Our boat seems to have gone aground right next to Talrik's (go figure). Is there a way of getting our boat back in the water? At least we were able to give him his pirate hook.

Wyverns favorite fix is...
Go out into the sea and cast 'Create portal' , go back to the boat and take the helm ( click on the wheel) then cast 'Teleport'.

I like to take the helm and cast 'Vanish'... I guess I like new adventure. You never Know where you'll end up.... on land... in the trees...who knows. I think it's fun...

IMHO...Don't use the boat for too long...It' s fun while it's New but you'll find more crabs and sharks if you swim. Besides then you can learn to Run on top of the water...most of the time it's much faster. Holding down the shift key (when your on the boat) is too inconsistant.

Well that is an ingenious fix! Thanks for the tip about running on the water, Packrat. I didn't like the boat because it obscured too much of your vision (hence running aground!).

Good luck, Gathering shells.

That reminds me..I recently read a tip someone posted.

If you steal from the crabs, you have a better chance of getting shells...Well not better just more chances....Once they're dead their gone. You either get a shell, or don't....But if you try to steal....More chances...

Run on water? Can you do that in the beginning of the game?

Yes you Can!!!

Just hold down the shift key and look up a little a time till your on top.

If you get them too high ...they porpoise.

Oh and I did find the original post about stealing..

If you steal from the crab of the seas it is a more reliable way of obtaining conch shells.
My hats off.

All this talk of crabs! If you have the evil eye be careful that you don't use it and turn the crabs to STONE! I did what a nuisance, but you can use 'stone to flesh' to bring them back to life, but when they are stone be careful not to damage your weapons as it took me a couple of hits to realize the crab had turned to stone!
