G'day guys and girls

Bardan the slayer over at his TSR site has a link to a mod that allows you to use bg1 using the BG2 engine. Has any one used it before, how good is it? how do you load it? this is version 4 i think.

http://www.the-silver-river.com/Foru...d=2614;start=0

Here is the link.

Yes, it's called BG Tutu, was introduced to Ironworks by its creator, and was created by the fine folks at FW Studios. Check them out at http://www.fwstudios.net

If you want to run through the whole game
BGtutuworks the following way: Install BGtutu, play BG1, save your char, uninstall BGtutu, import your char, play BG2

If you take the time to download BGT (a TeamBG mod far larger in size) you can play the whole series in one and take not nly your main char but also some NPCs with you to BG2 and more importantly keep their stats (i.e. Minsc's, Imoen, Jaheira's, Edwin's, Viconia's,... stats stay as they were at the end of BG1, so if you for example gave them tomes you won't have to SKeep or CLUA them in anymore)

P.S: I think we should keep this to one topic, probably in the BG2 forum because there's more traffic. Just follow the link there and help not making two exact same threads which would be kind of pointless.
Maybe a mod could lock this thread after posters have joined the thread in BG2

Yep, I hosted a mirror, which I set up for Japheth when he appealed for them. Links to FWStudios, the TuTu ReadMe, the FW Tutu forum et al are all included on my site. It;s the least I could do, seeing as he in turn links to me

Thanks for providing the link, but I do not see the point in locking this thread just yet. An ocasional bump or a sticky might make it easier for the BG1 casual browser of this forum to see what sounds like a fantastic idea.

That's all true. it comes down to a choice.

Spend 6 weeks downloading and installing BGT (if you're on a dialup), then play.

Spend 60 seconds downloading BGTuTU, 60 seconds in Shadowkeeper, and play. Oh, and uninstall if you want, at any time

If you are on a dialup and get 5Kb/s download (never happen), it will take you about 2 *solid* weeks of downloading to get BGT. If you say it takes 120 seconds to download BGTutu, then by my reckoning, you've saved 1,209,480 seconds which you could have spent actually playing

I am using it and like it. Some things I've noticed so far:

1. spell - animate dead works as in SOA (not one skeleton per level)

2. spell - find familiar gives you a powerful (for 1st level) party member, but there are draw backs. Not all their special abilities work and it create tougher spawns. Imagine facing a dread wolf or two just outside Candlekeep.

3. The chicken quest only has one outcome.
