Default Graphics Cards

It's that time of the year for me. The new Football Manager is out in a few weeks and I've just downloaded the demo. The minimum specs seem pretty high, maybe because of the 3d match engine they have incorporated.

Videocard - 128MB Nvidia FX 5900 Ultra, ATI Radeon 9800, Intel 82915G/82910GL or greater.

Name: SiS Mirage 3 Graphics
Manufacturer: Silicon Integrated Systems Corp
Chip Type: SiS672
DAC Type: Internal
Approx. Total Memory: 312 MB

I for one know not a lot about graphics cards, I wonder if anyone could help?

Technically, yes.

Will it be slow as anything? Also yes.

Get a new one mate.

And how would one find that out? *blushes*

It's a laptop so I'm not sure how easy, if at all, it would be to get a new graphics card...

Ohhh, dude, I think you're SOL. The only thing might be that you could upgrade the graphics chip, but I seriously doubt it. That is a the downside to laptops; they're either not upgradable, or it's just too expensive.

Feck. It's crazy the specs are so damn high for the damn, considering what it does.

Could just be the release. I know it takes ~6months before it becomes bug free, and this is a demo only...

Oh, don't get me started on that!!

It makes me sick the way they right new software. Most of them are hogs in so many ways. Then yes, there are the bug issues in most cases as well.

There have been some really good games w/o any bugs to speak of though.

I was at Chapters (book store) yesterday looking at PC Gamer. It's half, or even one third the thickness it used to be.

Variol is dead on. Laptops are stuck with the graphics processor they are sold with. It's not modular. It's "possible" that the graphics processor you have could run it decently if you max out the CP's RAM. But don't bet on it.
