hello to everyone . i registered back in march asking about W&W , but then i decided to wait for wiz8 instead . then when i picked up my copy of wiz8 i decided to chill here in the IW forums for a bit and hopefully share my experiances with other wiz8 adventurers . i was attracted to IW in the first place because of all of the pretty background colors (thats a jk btw , but honestly the site is really cool looking) but then i realized this forum was more then just that. there's alot of good people here that help eachother out of what i've seen . thats a welcomed exchange from my other forum in which i mod because there seems to be flame wars everyother day . that forum is for a ww2 game due out this coming february called allied assault . which is another welcomed exchange as i was a little burnt out on all of the ww2 war game scene . so i could say that my rpg fever is back i guess because of the up and coming LotR movie . but i knew my rpg fever would come back regardless .

my question is ...what do you guys think about the LotR movie ? are you skeptical ? how long ago did you read the book ? i read the fellowship of the ring and the two towers in 1999 but i never got to finish return of the king i guess i'll read it before that movie comes out .

i also recently picked up baldurs gate: dark alliance for the ps2 ... i never played the pc BG's . but it kinda reminds me of darkstone more then diablo . its pretty good so far . what do you guys think of console rpg's . there's a ton of console rpg's coming out this month . one i'm interested in is wizardry: the forsaken land.

HI! Glad you made it over to post! IW is a great place to be and flamewars don't erupt for too long in this place as you no doubt know! It's one thing that sets us apart from the rest of the msg boards out there!

Enjoy BG!!! I love the game, well BG2 at any rate!

I think Lord of the Rings will be great! I read the books for the first time in the late 80's or early 90's. I've read Fellowship again this year and am currently reading Two Towers. I know the book will differ from the movie (they always do), but I believe the movie will be great!

I love the entire BG series, IWD, and PST. They are all great games.

I also enjoy WWII games. I played Panzer General on Nintendo, and play lots of Axis and Allies online.

Enjoy IW's!

Oh yeah, our friend Brad is in a contest to win an autograph photo by his favorite group, and he needs your help to do it. Vote for Brad at the link in my signature.

thx for replies guys .

Madman-Rogovich ...of what i looked into BG-DA before i bought it was that the developers decided to make it into more of an action/rpg with the heavy emphasis on action . the character selection/development isn't deep like pc rpgs . only 3 characters to choose from , a dwarf , archer, and sorceress . so i guess die-hard BG' fans might find it disappointing if they get it assuming it will be like its predecessors . the visuals are one of the best i've seen though and the music kinda reminds me of darkstone with its calming effect . so i guess you can summerize it as a hack-nslash diablo2 clone . but its been recieving its share of praises so far because of its graphics and gameplay .
