Happy Heroes of Neverwinter on Facebook

Well I won the lottery and got in on the closed-beta. I have survived the opening sequence which gets your feet wet doing combat. Looks promising so far-similiar to the Dragon Age browser game only with 4e inspired rules.

I look forward to having friend's characters join my party and if any IWers start playing and wanna friend up-let me know!

Flash-based like Farmville etc? Sounds interesting.

For a second I thought you were in the new Neverwinter online game beta. I was about to harass you in PM to break the NDA and spill everything!

Yeah it's a flash-based Facebook Game. You can have a party of up to 4 and you can include characters your friends create. Friends can watch you play with their characters and help out in a peripheral manner.

Here is the link to the facebook page, not the app.

Everyday they announce openings into the BETA which seem to fill instantly. I tried for a few days before finally being on FB the same moment they announced openings, then WHAM!

I also joined this FB group:

Which has a very helpful FAQ/Guide posted.

Yeah I seen it before, but browsed by it because I was looking for the other Neverwinter game (pushed back to 2012 btw). Anyways, how is it, as far as flash games go particularly in terms of limitations and how it translates to D&D? Not sure if there is an NDA with this one. From the screenshots I see they did get NWN city right at least. Not sure how I feel about the cartoony look - but that's all flash games nowadays. I shouldn't expect too much since this is probably a free, simplified version.

Yeah, its simplfied big time. For example, flanking involves nothing more than allies being adjacent to an adversary rather than on opposite sides. Still it's free and fun so far.

I just got a first level party slaughtered in a kobald dungeon. Apparently the premade NPCs you can hire to adventure with are random characters made by other players. Some random "stranger" became an active spectator in the game and buffed my party nice in the early fight but was no help to be found at the boss.

I also got in, it's fun, but like all Facebook games, kinda shallow and with a huge "Buy points to get ahead" sign looming over it.

But it's still way better than Daggerdale...

Yeah I think I "got in" too. If by getting in that means installing it and playing a bit - didn't have to sign up for anything. Bah, it beats games like Farmville and yes, Daggerdale too.

Open Beta begins tomorrow, but last Friday they seriously messed the game up with a bug-ridden update. Every attack made hits and for max damage amongst other issues. Hope it gets fixed for right for tomorrow.

Is what I got into the actual game or just like a demo? I can play it on Facebook anytime.

It is the actual game, which is now in open BETA for everyone to enjoy. (gogogogog) Still has some bugs, but they fixed the big ones.
