dummy in martens fort

im in martens bluff and there is a dummy with a bulls eye on its chest hanging on a noose in the middle of some weird room
what the hell do i do there

Have you spoken with Z'ant? There's a quest associated with that dummy.

Kill the Rapax Assassin. Basically, what you do is (1) put the perfume (buy from Crock) on dummy (2) wait for assassin to show up and enter the room (btw, make sure the doors are open) (3) shut the doors, trapping assassin (4) switch on the sliding panels, thereby squishing rapax to a pulpbits (5) get rapax head and give to Z'ant.

hmm i talked to z'ant but he didnt mention anything bout rapax assasin
maybe i missed it
or maybe that happens later
i already have the perfune tho
i stopped off at crocs for a bit and PP of him

i entered the bluff from the south part of the swamp
should i have gone in from the mines instead
there seems to be a lot of unopenable doors

Not sure, but I think it's the 2nd quest he gives you (after the Umpani flag). Entering from the swamp is ok, but I think you should poke around from the mines side too, if only to completely explore the area. Again not sure, but I seem to recall picking up a musical instrument somewhere in the mines area, useful if you've got a bard.

How you enter Marten's Buff isn't important. Z'ant's quest will come later, he will first ask some other quests befoer he drops this one.

Can't remember, but it might be the 3rd quest, after bringing back the Chaos Moulari(?) from UMA.

Actually, how you enter Marten's Bluff is important, since it's from the Mines side that you get to the area that opens the way to the idol.
