I find in Sydney, being an outdoors, mostly coastal living society that daylight savings is welcomed because the hours of sunlight after 'standard' working hours are extended. So there's more time to swim or surf, hang out in a beer garden, have a barbie at home etc... In winter that hour's difference wouldn't help much anyway so it's not needed. Queensland is much closer to the equator so they don't do it. All makes sense to me. I enjoy it. Small disruption for great benefit.

Time Magazine critiques the change over, and points out the flaws in this plan.
