I read this article and my heart aches. I'd love nothing more than to take this poor little boy into my home and give him the love and stability he needs (in addition to all the therapy he's needed and been denied for years). My heart goes out to him. And does anyone else feel like smacking his mother for being so callous and "whatever"-ish about her son being missing? And I quote:

"Somebody is keeping him for themselves,'' she said. "There is nothing I can do,'' Raven Myers said. "I just have to move on with my life and worry about my daughter right now.''

Some people just should not be allowed to have children. Especially when there are so many out there who would be wonderful parents and aren't able to have any. Sorry, ranting off, this just hit a sore spot for me.

Bear in mind, the media have a looong history of taking things out of context. What you read and the context you read it in may have been altered to create heroes and villains for a story Not saying I agree with the mother, I DON'T, just reminding you.

Poor little mite. That's a sad story right enough. Hope the little fellow can find some love and stability for the future. He deserves some.

Normally I'd agree with you, but given the history of this case, I think this statement was read just as it was meant. If she had the boy when she was 15, she's only about 21 now, and from the sounds of it, is an immature 21 year old who seems only concerned with herself and not others, especially not her children.

You have to be very comfortable with yourself in order to truly experience the love that a parent can have for their child. I don't think at 15, you're really ready to handle it, because there's still so much of your own issues to be worked out. It's easier when you're older, not because the issues are less or because you've handled them, but because you can acknowledge them, allow them to be, and put them aside for the moment.

I hope that li'l Buddy can experience the true love and caring of a parent for a child. Perhaps a foster parent or adoptive parent will come into the mix; it doesn't sound like his biological parents have a lot going for them.
