No, Radek has no connection with the game code, he has learned it hard way when he came into Stout Mines as a warlock
Anyway, have you ever seen a warlock with a pick axe?? From the role playing point of view it's a real nonsense. But, IMO, the game should not be so strict in this case, at least, it should allow the warlock to use the pick axe.

Can a warlock use the shovel or sledgehammer on the piles? That might be a way around it...

And it's interesting in a lot of ways that this game has had so much analysis by its players. I can guarantee you that we've come up with scenarios the developers never *dreamed* of testing... like a party with all wizards

Hi folks......the Wizard couldn't use the sledge, or any other thing that might have bashed the ore....My error was in thinking that once I had the skill I could use it no mater what character I was......

Radek.........you read my mind....my next post was going to be about the four tomes for my six Zenmasters.....got the answer before I even asked the question........and MANY THANKS for the reminder about the full invertory for all characters not allowing room for the tomes.....that might have what messed me up with getting the ore....my inventory way full....p.s. playing the unpatched version.....tried playing on my Falcon with Windows XP....total nightmare...saved to disc and went to the 486 Gateway...other than a few minor crashes...all is well....
