I don't like when people say:" wow, it is cool, but..." or "I agree, but..." or "yeah, true, but..." or "you're right, but..."
what the heck, dood3z? if you agree, then shut up, no but either agree or disagree, goddamnit, is that so hard to say no? it just very annoying, do you agree or not? geez I am not talking about anyone particular, just my style in general |

The problem is that people can partially agree, or agree on one point but not think that the argument used is persuasive enough.
Suppose someone claims an elephant is a dangerous creature and says: 'It's so heavy that you'll die if it sits on top of you'. Now that's true, but elephants mostly don't sit on people and are very gentle creatures. It's something different when someone uses the yes, but construction as a way to ignore other people's points, in which case you are absolutely right 250. But most of the time, that is just how people talk. ------------------ The last arrow of Legolas kindled in the air as it flew, and plunged burning into the heart of a great wolf-chieftain. generally, to me, it is a sign of lack of confidence or unhealthily self-concious. saying no won't hurt people's feelings, saying no won't crash down heaven of course, there are exceptions, so don't throw rocks at me for not addressing it. |

you are a wise, nice and intelligent guy, you know? it is really nice knowing you. what I said there may not sound cool to you, but don't you lose any sleep for it, OK? just think:" f--- you, 250, I don't give a damn!" potty mouth one last time I don't mind anyone disagreeing with me, but don't feel hurt, that wasn't my intention [This message has been edited by 250 (edited 10-22-2001).] |

Its cool, Two Fitty. I don't lose sleep over such things. I'll go an edit my post to put something inefectual in its place. Thanks for the kind words. (Insert placebo smiley here)
