HELP!! HELP!! XEN AND OTHER FOOTBALL PLAYERS COME HITHER!! I NEED THY AID!!!

I am going hysterical and have a problem.

I play football(soccer) at school. While I was playing my teacher Mr.Worden came up to me and said I am selected to be in the all stars football game against another class on tuesday during lunch. He only selected me because two of one of the best players in the class recommended me. (Almost everyone in class nicknames me Buddy.) The thing is I don't think I am good as they say I am. I played once and more than once a foward had gotten past me and scored. Though I do admit I managed to kick the ball away to my teammates more than once. So I ask of this football players! Any tips of being good defense? The trouble I have is taking the ball and I don't like being very agressive.

And one more thing

Well, just don't expect that a few suggestions from some people on a messageboard turn you into Dennis Bergkamp over a night. Talent doen't grow on trees. You can train skills, but if you don't have any to begin with, you'd better look for something else to do.

Edit: This is the movie i was talking about. It's an oldie though, you might not find it that easy anymore.

I know that I can't be a Ronaldo in a few days. Just needed some word tips thats all......and I got to find those old soccer books my dad bought me.

And don't worry I do have some skills to begin with!
Though I am not as good as when I was 10 when I was at my very best.

How many days before the match?

Take a ball and go stand in front of a wall, start with 5 meters away. kick the ball to the wall and try to kick it back to the wall when it bounce back into you, repeat and repeat. after you think you have master it, cut short the distance to 4 meters,3meters and finally to 2 meters.

why? this will improve your eye to ball, eye to leg coordination and imrpove your judgement on the ball speed,dirction and your kick accuracy.

there, that's a simple exercise for a football new players. but that alone won't make you into the next Pele. [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]

Hm...I play stopper and all i do is contain defense and slide if im starting to det beat, then if a player gets past you dont worry about it and just remember to look for similar moves the next time

Keep your step light - stand on your toes whenever the ball's in your area. This will help you to react faster and be quick off the mark when it's time to sprint. Also, keep your eyes focused on the ball itself and never let them stray from it. Above all, don't be distracted by the forward's moves or tricks. Get as close to him as you can, and don't be afraid to be physical. Be right on the guys' ankles, be hard, be decisive - never give him the space and time to develop his attack - be right onto him from the moment he gets the ball. You can use an arm or hand if need be - tug his shirt, nudge him with a shoulder - these are all things that will distract and disrupt his flow. This is why it's important you stay as close to him as possible throughout the game; it will give you the chance to do all those things.
