I disagree however that when you do like someone, there is no point either. Of course you always wish them the best, but on specific occasions most people want to let them know about it. When someone falls really ill, you tell them how sorry you are, even though they might know. When someone gets married, you tell them how sorry happy (ack, Johnny's malign influence) you are for them. Same goes for birthdays - if I really like someone I truly hope their day will be much better than just any ordinary day, and I don't feel fake telling them.
Fine, I take back what I said about saying I hope you have a Happy Birthday, I'm genuinely glad that your birthday turned out great and hope you win a lottery of some sort where you live because it wouldn't work out very well since you don't live in the states (powerball you know ) because you're a good person. And I'll even send you one of my famous cakes, which probably won't turn out to taste so great when it crosses the seas, but it's the thought that counts!

Does that cover all the bases?

Quietman, don't be sorry you're late, LOL. I don't expect the whole membership of IWs to be online in time for my birthday, really! Same to D*ranged and Uss of course. Thanks guys.

To an extent, but you still gotta have 'the goods' for people to recognize. Which you do, in many different ways So it's all good
