I have to say when both boards were down yesterday, I did feel a panicy type feeling! But I'm OK now. Just knowing the Board is there even if I don't have anything to say on it is somehow comforting. I have grown quite attached to the people on this BGII board! Kinda sad isn't it?

Nah, not really. Familiarity's a good thing. It's nice to know that the board's always here when you accidentally fall asleep on a blow-up lilo out in the sun and become tomato man.

What exactly is a blow up lilo? Is it a raft or something? What you call tomato man we call here in America lobster man. Pretty much the same thing, I think. Basically at night the only thing people see when looking at you is eye whites and teeth and all your friends keep saying they think a steak house must be nearby! Is this the state you are in now Armisael?

Yeah, pretty much. A blow-up lilo is a little inflatable air bed. So we're floating around Port Philip on these lilos, it's pretty fun on a hot day. Two of them popped, you're not really meant to use them on water, but they only cost ten bucks. Anyway, I fell asleep. Woke up about six hours later (yes, I was still on the lilo) and bang, I've been sunburned. Now I'm sitting here covered in calamine lotion, itching like hell. I hate sunburn.

Calamine lotion? Does that really work for sunburn? Seems to me it is very drying and moisture is really what your skin needs when burned. Perhaps that's why you're itching. It is because your skin will start peeling soon. You need to use some kinda Vitamin E lotion or something like Aloe. That has always seemed to be the best remedy for me. Not a whole lot you can do about the burning feeling, especially after SIX HOURS! If feel sorry for you. Tonight when you go to bed the sheets will be your enemy!

Truthfully, I don't know what calamine lotion actually is, one of my mates just happened to have packed some (!?) and figured it was probably better than nothing. I guess I'll just sleep standing up. Definitely too many roentgens for one day.

Thanks for the book info Moiraine! I just happened to go to the bookstore yesterday evening and I saw them. They sound very intersting (ships that think!). I'll be sure to start on one as soon as I finish Jordan's 9th book which I just purchased. To tell the truth, after reading all of Jordan's books in a row, I will be very glad to read a different author! Sheesh, I could pass an essay on his stories!

*adopts a solemn tone*
This is our Time of Troubles fellow board members, we need to stick together and show solidarity while not putting pressure on Overlord Ziroc to fix the (old) and new board. This is definitely running on fumes. I was surprised to see Evil Smiting on the front page again... |
