Disintergrate is a good spell providing you don't mind risking disintergrating some of the items being carried. Not a good choice of spell for creatures carrying good items.

What I do against dragons is finger of death as many times as possible, (about 5, with anomen jan and imoen) then just haste and hack-a-way with fire elementals and skelington warriors

I've never had that big a problem with dragons. I am only playing on normal setting but I beat the shadow dragon with level 10 and 11 characters. I cast breach on him straight away to get rid of his protections then Draggor, Minsc, Jahiera and Mazzy all just wailed on him while Nalia fired arrows and he was dead in a couple of rounds. You just have to get rid of a dragons protections as quickly as possible and keep your most powerful characters the closest so only they get attacked.

I have, I have, its really funny one second big nasty dragon the next second a rabbit's running around. I think they have 250 hitpoints.
