For those of you who doesn't know what it is, it's roleplaying, only that you dress up and more "becomes" the character you play, rather than playing it..
Then you go out into the woods, or something more suitable, a couple of days (or weeks) along with other people who live, and just role-play..
Fight, talk, hunt, steal, love etc..
I was thinking of start "liveing", because I have a friend who has been doing it awhile, and has invited me to join him..
So I was wondering..Does anyone here live?

I haven't done it myself, but I know someone who has. It seems like fun, although maybe a bit harder than PnP. It seems to me that you should have some acting-skills, or at least a bit of a poker-face to do it properly. And those are qualities I'm not particularly blessed with.

I've tried it, nothing really special about it, in fact I'd prefer a good game of PnP to it any day.

I did some LARPing long ago.

Normal LARPing (I always picked Warrior-Priest as Monks were on a short-list) was crap to be honest. The whole thing was munchkin-city and utter crap. I used Mace in one hand and used the other to block and parry (Martial parries against armed attacks is against elbows/wrists etc and the GM moaned when I did that)

I also did Vampire LARP. That was UTTER rubbish, it really was. I was looking forward to some RP as a vampire from an assassin clan but the rest were a collection of whingers and fat goths

Wouldn't recommend it to be honest

Sounds to me that you were on a "boffer" LARP (hope that's the english word for it ), that, I agree, sounds like it's more for teenage guys with an urge for pounding eachother senseless..
Apparently, that's one typ of LARP, and then there's the part of it where you only role-play, and don't fight that much..
That is what I'm supposedly gonna try..

Oh and if you're interested; here's a site (swedish, but it shouldn't be a problem, just click the RED texts and you should be fine ) with pictures from swedish live-roleplays..
Pretty interesting

EDITED due to those annoying URL's that won't work

There's a Vampire LARP near where I live every week after dark. I don't LARP, but I know a few people who do. I suppose it depends on the people you're with - like every RP.
