This is so cool...
I recently started playing IWD again (something to do with exams and procrastination) and ive got my party into lower Dorns. Last time i did this i feebly killed one or two monsters at a time until i got to the boss. This time as soon as i attack one monster on the map, they all swarm me.... i cant even see my two warriors as they hack n slash their way through a forest of monsters. The remarkable thing is that its all done in a very relaxed manner. Nobocy dies, my mage and priest cast a minimal amount of spells and i forget to use my F/T. I cant wait to see my pally when he gets his sword. Sorry to everyone who was expecting a preventive treatment for axe-in-head syndrome, im feeling a bit godlike so i'll put it on my list. I guess i shouldnt be too proud... not like its HOF. In case you're wondering what the point of this post was its to make the forum a little less dead, and to cure my boredom at uni.

Spoilers
* * * A forest of monsters like Bronze Sentries? That fight (or series of fights, more accurately) is not bad with the right buffs, but a nightmare without proper preparation. Or are you referring to fights other than the entrance area? The enemies added by HoW (and the extras in HoF) really add to the fights. Nothing like whaling on wimpy thieves and then running smack into Kraken Mages.

Well, we'll rely on you to jump-start it with some crazy questions.
Those of us who pop in now and again have said just about everything there is to say on party composition, etc., so the discussions are kinda sparse and stale. We need some new blood.

Me thinks not many people play 2nd edition rules anymore especially with so many rpg with 3rd edition rules. I just prefer 2nd edition rules. I grew up with it....

I agree. It seems more "natural" to me, although some of the 3rd ed rules do make more sense.
