Question Mark

Well, you all must've seen tons of "you know you've been {insert activity here} too much if..." So I thought we can start a new one for IWD. Everyone feel free to contribute.

I'll start with a couple of mine, but... unfortunately I'm not really good at inventing jokes, so while mine aren't really that funny I hope some of you can come up with much better ones.
Here goes...

You know you've been playing IWD too much if...
1. Your definition of the word "party" is a group of six people.
2. Whenever you wish to halt any computer activiy, your hand automatically reaches for the space-bar key.

Moreover...

You know you're NobleNick if:
your starting party is always 5 human fighters and a bard.

You know you're Dundee Slaytern if:
at the start of the game all you have to do is put "AI on" and the game plays out till the end by itself.

You know you're Marty if:
all your stats are either 18 or 3.

I don't know whether to be overjoyed, or to sneak into your house while you are sleeping and start torching random stuff

You know you play too much IWD when you
-Randomly start swinging baseball bats like swords
-Wish you could fireball your science class
-Post on Ironworks

Yea, those are bad, but they are mostly from personal experience anyway

Oh, and ever since I started playing IWD I have gotten horrible in RTS games. Other people wonder why I type so many spaces

That was by far the funniest thing you said.

Nice idea, ZFR. I reposted an older thread like this in the Morrowind forum when I was experiencing a fever of enthusiasm, but sadly no-one else got into it. Oh well. Here's to Icewind Dale and memories then!

You know you've been playing too much Icewind Dale when:
- Caffeine becomes your life's potion of speed, granting you that extra 'attack' in times of stress.

- Winter makes you yearn for some kind of Heartstone Gem and a good ol' Yeti Pelt.

- Your teeth chatter when you explore any ice caves - You wear a heavy dressing gown and turn the heater up to the max when playing Icewind Dale.

- You feel the need to waffle to friends about your latest revelations on life's sacred balance in the arms of nature.

- You start whistling or humming the Easthaven theme in the shower.

- You suddenly feel the need to travel to Iceland, Canada, Alaska or Scandanavia and rush out of your chair only to get to the door and have a nagging voice inside your head say "You must gather your passport before travelling forth".

That'll do off the top of my head. Keep em coming!

ZFR,

Heh, heh, heh; close! That's my dream party! My current party has only a disappointing 3 DC (therefore Human) Fighters, a DC Ranger and a Bard (and an MC Gnome Thief/Illusionist). It might be more appropriate to say that the only Single Class characters are the ones which are impossible to design as a DC or MC (e.g., the Bard). I did have a Bard-less party once, led by a Pally; but that was before I installed HoW.

EDIT: Oh, yes, you know if you've been playing too much IWD if...

Now you are all going to think I've gone loco; but, for AT LEAST the last 2 YEARS, I get this Weird Al Yankovick(sp?) bastardization of the Lionel Richie tune "All Night Long" running through my head at least 5 times a week. I don't know the words to the song, just the tune; and for the refrain, instead of "All night lo-o-o-ong," I hear "Ice Wind Da-a-a-ale." Yeah, it's really scary...

--------------------
What's a party,
without a song?
Bards ROCK!
Party On!!

Ahh, nice thread - these things never get old.

These arnt so much funny as they are actual things I have found myself doing on a number of occasions:

You know youve been playing IWD too much when;

1)Using adjectives such as 'plus 1' or 'finest' when describing something good. (yeah I did...)

2)Everyone is sick of hearing about how you 'dashed the face of evil across the floor, and slew the armies valiantly..etc' last night.

3)You find the Kuldahar theme strangely comforting, giving you a real sence of safety and home - even go as far as to listen to it ouside of IWD.

4)You understand the D&D ruleset.

Question Mark

...you read threads about "you know you've been playing the game too much if" to see if what people say applies to you.

...you post responses in the "you know you've been playing too much" thread to let other people know just how much you have been playing.

...you understand all the responses people post.

You know you've been playing too much IWD when if someone throws a ball at you, you run like hell because you think its a fireball
