I collect quotes & sayings, (and dragons!) so it's hard to choose just one favorite. I only save the ones I like, after all!
Here is one tho, that expresses how I try to live. "Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself." ~ Og Mandino Author of "The Greatest Salesman in the World" OR this: "Don't spend your precious time asking 'Why isn't the world a better place?' It will only be time wasted. The question to ask is 'How can I make it better?' To that there is an answer." ~ Leo F. Buscaglia Author of "The Way of the Bull" OR this: Do Not Meddle in the Affairs of Dragons … for You are Crunchy & Good with Ketchup. Ok ok ... I'll stop now! |

My Advice- Have good friends! The kind that helps you out when things go to shit. Like when your van gets broken into and you lose $3000 worth of tools with which you make your living and friends lend you tools/money so you can go to work the next day. Friends that you can go to and say "Hey, its been a tough week, can you loan me a couple hundred?" And the other way around. I'll give my friends anything if they need it. Well, except for sex. Good friends are rare and I'm lucky to be surrounded by them so thats my advice. HAVE GOOD FRIENDS.

As above, wouldn't be here without them, no doubt about it. Started infants school at 5yrs old, same day as my best pal. 33yrs down the road and we're still the closest of mates and always mentioned by others in the same breath. The rest of my mates are nearly all 20 yr plus friendships. Very, very fortunate man indeed.
You must smile through your tears.... and move on......and keep on moving. |

ladyzekke, I collect dragon pictures, and dragon statues, my latest 'find' is my denim shirt with a lovely dragon picture on the back. I prefer the wise dragon over the vicious killer dragon. Dragons are hard to find, so I'm not terribly picky. I first got into dragons when I read the Anne McCaffery Pern novels at age 15, and I've been 'hooked' ever since. I have a gold dragon tattooed on my back as well.
Everyone I know thinks I'm a bit 'odd', but that's ok. They are still very good friends to me. |

Bilqis - I also collect dragons. I have dozens of lead dragons that you glue together and paint from Citadel and Ral Partha. They are great in that you can paint them literally any colors you want. You should also check out www.dragonrealm.com (Dragon Realm Studios) and take a look at their 1' size maneuverable dragon models (pretty cool, but expensive. Still, I'm thinking about getting one). Also, just for fun, don't know the exact address, but search under "Del Sol t-shirts" and you can find a site that has t-shirts (couple with dragons) that change colors in the sun.

ladyzekke, My oldest son has painted a few lead dragons for me. He also sculpted me one when he was 14 - gorgeous! I will definitely check out your suggestions! Have you been to http://www.dancingdragon.com/ ? It's an online catalog full of dragon things - statues, shirts, jewelry, lamps. My office is full of dragons, as is my bedroom, and the shelves around my home PC.
Another site that is fun to look at and has a lot of info about dragons is http://www.draconian.com/home/frameset.htm I'm glad to hear there's another woman out there who collects dragons! |
