"Ye..yes..ma'am!"...Raymond stuttered as he and TAO made their way out of the forest. Raymond was hoping that soon he would get some action against this so-called demon. That was where the action was, and he had always dreamed of being a hero...

Bazguul'tek

The Neo-Orog stampered out of the tavern, carrying the arm of a victim in his claw and chewing on it. When he reached Bazguul, he bowed himself down to the ground ang spoke in his new dialect. Bazguul grinned and lightly fingered the amulet. The monster's body convulsed and bled, finally leaving in the wake of a misty, smelly cloud, a human once more. The poor man began to weep and spit remains of human flesh from his lips. Bazguul could not help but laugh at him. Speaking in a mock soothe, he said, "There, there, human. You have done well. You will be rewarded this night with the whore of your choice! Come then everyone! The tavern is again clear and we now decend back to our homes for a while. Victory was ours today, and will be again soon. Let us go down". The brigands all clammered into the tavern, decending the stairwell, and finding their homes hidden beneath the city. The three children that were taken prisoner were placed in cages to hang in the throne room, one per cage. They were placed in front of the Demon-Lord so that he could make a decision as to which one he would devour.

The bright-eyed lad gave a chortle as he jiggled the gold pieces before depositing them safely out of sight ~ "...'s the news about that tramp, Tobias." ~ Giving a contemptuous snort ~ "...apparently, after that row... hmm... two nights ago, he's back at it with 'is missus. Well... ex-missus, or current missus... whatever."

Oxley whistled softly at the turn of events ` "By Gawd, that's a complete turnaround. How did that happen?!" ~ Jimmy rolled his eyes ~ "How the hell should I know? Them over there were just specoolatin'... maybe she still had the hots for him, 'specially after his fight with that babe... say, where's she these days?" ~ He scowled as Oxley knocked his head ~ "Yer too young for this kind of talk, Jimmy boy!" ~ The barkeeper seemed a little lost in thought for a moment.

"But not too young to pick up such trashy news fer yer, aye?" ~ The boy stuck his tongue out momentarily ~ "Still, why the hell should I care? ... 's long as I git me moneys." ~ He scampered off as Oxley broke his spell of concentration and threw a mock punch at him ~ "Go serve that old lady there!" ~ Pointing to a wrinkled faced figure sitting quietly at the centre of the tavern.

Addison returned Kishin's bow and began to explain their situation.

"I will tell you what I know, although I am also new to this region and newer still to this quest. The army you saw ride in is led by a demon of horrible power. His abyssmal power is augmented by an amulet, one which contains the soul of a powerful wizard. How he came to be entrapped within the amulet and why he aids this demon are unknown to me. All I know for certain is that he has completely destroyed two cities in as many days with the power granted by the amulets magic."

"We have two paladins in our group. They have returned to their Order to summon reinforcements for our battle with this demon's army. The young lady that warned us of his iminent return was a slave to one of his lieutenants, but has taken up with Sir Blandomor in hopes of becoming his squire. I had hoped to find them (along with a large contigent of their brethren) waiting out here, but apparantly that is not yet happened."

"There is another of our group that is here, and I expect you will meet her shortly. She is a druid of no small power. She also has a young protege' with her. She acts as his mentor and protector, instructing him in the use of his powers. They came out here for another lesson shortly before the army's arrival."

Addison pauses for a moment, then turns to Madman.

"You are correct, Madman, that I have some concerns about you. We were ambushed by several men in the tavern shortly before you arrived. Then you show up with a group of men on your trail seeking to bring you to justice. I allowed you to come with us because I do not know who is allied with the demon in this town. While it is obvious that you are an outlaw, it may well be that the "law" in this town is ruled by a creature from the Abyss. I will reserve judgement for now and you will have a chance to prove your loyalty. But should you consider betraying us, I will know of it before the thought is completed and you will not live long enough to regret the decision."

Addison could see the anger flare in Madman's eyes and softened his tone a bit. They had enough enemies already. There was no reason to create more.

"Well, we will know soon enough. With the army's return, I fear you will have a chance to prove your value far too soon."

The fire in Madmans eyes subsided slightly, but not completely.

"And you are right, this is not my "keep". However, I couldn't be certain who would hear my words in the tavern, and I would much rather our enemies believe us to be far away rather than right outside their door."

"Now that you know of our quest, perhaps each of you could tell me more about yourself and how you might aid us."

SIR BLANDAMOUR(To Eliza, as they meet in the hall of the Order Building) "Ah, there you are my dear. We must eat and rest, for the army is to leave tomorrow. There are two powerful people arriving tonight, a wizard skilled in dealing with demons and a Cleric of Ao who shall be able to protect the army from his demonic summonings to some amount. Sharpen your blade, for we shall be in the vanguard. Sir Bors has asked me to fight at his left side, and you shall be right behind me."

ELIZA(Coming arond a corner, she has suddenly come across Blandamour. The longed-for sight of his dear face brings the blood leaping into her cheeks.) "Ah, my Lord, twill be a brave sight, I am sure."(Suddenly, a memory returns. Her father's army, drawn up for review, him inspecting them intently, her dawdling at his side. She can fully recall the boredom and petulance that she had felt at the time. Had she been so shallow?) "My Lord, it shall be my pleasure to fight at your side, in the cause of justice. I have seen that the horses are properly cared for. Show me where your armor is to be kept, so that I may clean it tonight, so that you will be bright and bonny tomorrow when we sally forth."

"As you sir Addison, I can read your thought's easier then they can be spoken. I have an uncanny ability to be able bend still with a thought and redirect magic energies at a thought, unfortunatly is very taxing on my health, but fear not I am strong in mind as well in body otherwise my father would not have let me venture forth into these land's where I am not known. I have other talent's bu tonly use those if I must and only in battle..

ELIZA (The night comes. She is restless in her bed, having nighmares of Hell. She sneaks across the hall to Blandamour's room, and hears him snoring lustily. Sleeping soundly before battle? she thinks, what nerves. She slips under the covers. He wakens instantly. She lays a finger on his lips, quieting him at once.) "My Lord, I could not sleep for thoughts of you. Can you not comfort me?"
