At level 31, Imoen can cast 4 level 9 spells. Edwin can cast 7.

Imoen can cast 5 level 1-8 spells. Edwin can cast a whooping 8 each.

Basically... Edwin gets 27 more spells slots than Imoen. Makes much of a bigger impression than Viconic's "advantage" of two spells. See the difference?

Hmm, Dundee? You may be a bit off, I had Imoen and I took her through ToB and at level 25 she was able to cast 4 9th level spells, not at level thirty.

Level 31 is the maximum level that both Imoen and Edwin can reach in their Mage class under the ToB XP Cap. I was merely highlighting how they fare against each other at their maximum levels.

I'm kidding, but I see your point though. Wouldn't it have something to do with that she has levels in the thief class and Edwin is a pure class mage (Conjurer)?

Does that have any special purpose to it? Even on his corpse, it doesn't seem to come off.

It's not just that Edwin is a conjurer. He has vastly more spells than Imoen because ha also has his amulet.

He gains another +2 spells per level
from his Amulet

Yes. In my opinion he hs the best Mage in the game just becuase of his Amulet.

Wow, that's a nice trinket then. Hard to believe the designers would put someone that powerful so early into the game.
