Still haven't got the hang of Morrowind myself. But that's because my computer sucks

Not that I want to stay off-topic but why so? Wasn't it just satisfying to journey around all those pretty swamps, mountains and forests and look at the pretty skies, sometimes engraved with aurorae, in different types of weather, all the while increasing your athletics and acrobatics skills? Furthermore, as is apparent from the ending of BG II: Throne of Bhaal, it would be difficult to make a sequel to the BG series that actually relates to the Bhaalspawn storyline. They *could* make a prequel, but that is unlikely.
Didn't Atari say they were doing BGIII, and that it would be a prequel?

Oblivion I've read so much about that I'm certain it'll be a nearly perfect game. Bethesda's (the developing company) Morrowind was breath-takingly huge, beautiful and detail-rich game, the only great flaw being that the character interaction was extremely shallow. However, Bethesda built a new AI system for Oblivion that will definitely rock. Additionally, they've been working on the game since 2002, and as is evident from the screenshots and interviews, the enviroment, atmosphere and therefore the feel of the game will be something unlike we've ever seen in computer games. It doesn't take a genious to see that I'm extremely excited about the game.

Fallout III will also be developed by Bethesda. I've read as much as there is to read about it from nma-fallout.com and it's much-promising. Bethesda's promised to make the gameplay as true to that of Fallout 1 and 2 as possible. The company's stated that they'll pay much attention to the comments of the series' fanbase, which has a nearly nefariously fanatical reputation.

Blah-blah-blah, pläku-pläku-pläku.
Everyone is very excited about RAI (Radiant AI).

And Bethesda is meticulous with all their games, I'd imagine all Fallout III fans would be jumping for joy for Bethesda taking the project.

Sorry, was off wondering what color underwear everyone was wearing or buying... ahem..

I've not had as much time for posting as I used to for a while now. Been busy with family/friends/yardwork in the evenings and weekends and work gets busy for me this time of year so I don't have the time to post much from the office either. I'll be having a little more time as the season wears on though.

I agree, the games coming out will probably perk things up quite a bit.

Nope, no Microsoft. No name change..

Oh, and that Dark Messiah: Might and Magic game looks neat, although it IS a FPS. ugh. It's made by the folks that did Arx Fatalis, and THAT game was freaking nice.

I too miss the Might and Magic days.. I started out with Might & Magic III, and then Xeen.. awesome stuff. Also liked the Magic Candle games!!

Might and Magic was more of a game for my dad. I was looking through our closet where the computers are, and I found all these old "relics" for might and magic. My dad had pages upon pages of graph paper of handrawn maps (I believe they belonged to might and magic).

Besides, I was fairly too young to really play Might and Magic. Wizardry 7 was really my thing, and Ultimate 8. Although I did play those at age 5 or 6 so I was completely at inept at playing. But I just rehooked up our old comp with those games and I've had a blast ever since. I also miss the "original" FPS's such as Heretic and Doom.

Ah if only Interplay and Sir-Tech rose from their ashes and revitalized the gaming industry with true RPG's.

Ah, here it is. Can't see any talk of it being a prequel but I'm not sure. In any case, as much as we know, Atari still doesn't have a developer.

Oh yes, what to do when your favourite RPG forum is overrun with talk of.. RPGs.

Actually, no. The initial reaction was quite negative. That's due to the fact that Interplay, the publishing company who had the rights for the Fallout series, put it up in an auction. In the auction, Troika Games, the company leaded by people who created Fallout 1 and thus created the theme and the feel for the series, wished to buy it but Bethesda had more money so they got the series. Basically, Troika Games saw their own lisence being sold off to another.

"Morrowind with guns" was the initial negative reaction for the fans. The situation has improved however, now that Bethesda's developers themselves went to nma-fallout.com forums to assure people that Fallout III is going to be considerably different from Morrowind and that they'll take the time and effort to make it a great game.
