As far as I can judge it, when damage is dealt.
If you get the fire resistance up above 100% it starts absorbing fire. Cold resist for cold absorbing. etc. so on and you get the idea.

The PfFire set's the target's Fire Resistance to 100%.
The PfEnergy adds 75% on top of that, but all resistances are capped at 127%, so it stops there. From this point (until one or both of the spells wear off), all Fire damage sustained by the target creature will heal it. If the Manefestation is hit with a 100-hitpoint Fireball, it will actually be healed of 27 hitpoints. Using this tactic against the Manefestation has actually been suggested before--if it wasn't Dundee that suggested it, I know he at least read about it. It has also made me think about things like Water damage, which would only harm creatures with Fire Resistance (such as Fire Elementals, Efreeti, etc). I've never been too sure about the difference between Fire/Cold and Magic Fire/Cold. I guess some attacks use normal elemental damage and some use magical, but most spells & potions increment them equally, so I'm guessing the difference between them is pretty moot. Quote:
A better GBPitBSoATQ question wold be something like "What two map areas use the exact same icon on the World Map? No cheating, now!"

Back the the killing of the manifestation, int draining him always works if you have to resort to that. Generally, I just ctrl-r him since I often times cure him, then he STILL doesnt die. |

It would only work if you put the 2 spells Six listed on the previous page on the monster beforehand. Otherwise, it would feed it.
