Chapter 22: Kil--Er---Helping Sir Sarles

After killing Neb, we dropped Mazzy for Yoshimo. We couldn't disarm a trap so we needed another thief. We'll pick her up later.

Yoshimo disarmed the trap alright, but it went off and nearly killed the poor man. After robbing Neb's safe, we left to pick up Nalia from the bar. Was she ever wasted!

Heading to Jerlia's, we picked up the fake ore and went straight to Sir Sarles. Unfortunately, Aerie being somewhat of an artisan herself informed me Illithium doesn't smudge and the ore was obviously smudged. Damnit! I wanted to use it. Maybe if I take some for myself...there is more than 200 pounds.

So after giving Sir Sarles his precious ore, here's what happened:

Too which Aerie promptly cast a good spell...

And then Nalia's squirrel phobia...

OK! So that didn't really happen. Well the first part did and the rest was just the daydream of a Bhaal Child. I really didn't want to lose out on the reward for acquiring the idiot's services and none of us wanted to be snubbed by the art world...

Though killing Sir Sarles, everyone agrees it might be fun. I wonder if after he's done with the statue we can ambush him and get Viconia to torture him...

Chapter Twenty-Three: Brandobaris Rocks!

After turning in Neb's hear, and after recieving a nifty new helm from the Helm Priests, we all went to pick up Mazzy. Then we went to see if the priests had any other quests.

Unfortunately, my Keep Messenger informed me there had been a flood in the region. At the Keep, I had to pay 7000 gold just to repair farmholds and dikes! They owe me one for this...

The priests directed us to the Lathander temple for a new quest, wherein I got in a debate with the priests there why Brandobaris is such a better diety than Lathander. They gave me the quest. Then Mazzy got mad at me for converting people to Brandobaris's call but not Arvoreen's.

The ring was easy to get back, though I had to fight for it...

I suspect the 1000 gold reward was the result of converting a few Lathander Priests to Misadventurers of Brandobaris... well Nalia says we'd have gotten 10000 gold if not for my speeches.

Hehe thanks again. Encouragement every once in a while helps me keep it going, especially now that I have about twelve quests left to do. Once I'm past chapter two the game is fun again.

Chapter Twenty-Four: Jaheira and Harpers Harping on Jaheira

We exchanged Mazzy for Jaheira. Jaheira was none too happy with making her wait for weeks just to rejoin us. Xzar wasn't happy as well. So we went to finding Montaron right away.

They wouldn't let us into the Harper Base until we did something for them. So I agreed, just to shut up Xzar in the background. We were to kill some mages and monsters at some building.

The mages recognized me for some reason and decided to make things easier by commiting sepuku in the middle of the house. The goblins were easy to kill. I wonder where those mages know me from...

After our task, they admitted us. The Harper Base was full of some music they called "Techno" and Jaheira introduced us around. After some investigation, I found out that we'd need a special necklace to pass the Guardians upstairs. Everyone volunteered me for the job.

Berinvar, the apparent leader, was giving me the eye so I quickly formulated a plan. Funny how easy it is to slip a large necklace off of a man while giving him a backrub.

Upstairs, I looted around and found a note that hinted that Monty was turned into a bird. After getting the bird, we met up with Xzar who complained some of his students had commited ritualistic suicide in his house. Guess I know how they recognized me now.

Xzar transformed the bird, and we all wondered if Monty had gotten hold of a belt of gender-bending. Then we noticed it was an elf. An elf sticking a katana through Xzar's back! They used us!

After much cussing that would've made Korgan blush (Xzar did promise to tell us about Irenicus and Imoen's whereabouts), a harper approached Jaheira for a meeting. Jaheira said she'd be back in a day. Aerie was happy again.

The next day we went with Jaheira to the Harper Base. Unfortunately, some guy called Galvary kept ranting about how I stole Jaheira from him and that I'd rot in an imprisonment spell for taking her from him. Jaheira and I kept telling him that I like men, and that Jaheira saw him more like a brother, but he'd hear none of it!

The sod attacked us, we killed him. Jaheira found an interesting drawing of her and Alustriel Silverymoon in an embrace on the guy's carcass. She was not pleased, he drew her butt too flat!

We found monty's body upstairs.

Chapter Twenty-Five: The Battle of the Super-Colonic-Like-Enema-Thrust

After finding Monty we had his remains stuffed and mounted over my Keep's fireplace. Tis a memorial for poor Montaron and Xzar.

We headed to a bar to get a drink, and some enemy of Jaheira's cursed her for telling everyone about his slave trade. We searched the Copper Coronet for a friend of Jaheira's, and it turns out he died. After asking about the group of mages that attacked her, at the government district we asked, we met the group.

It turns out Ployer had no money and tried paying them with rotting fish heads and dead rats. They were not pleased. They especially weren't pleased when he tried to rehire them to kill us when we went to his house. I asked them how much it'd cost for their absence, and I paid them. Such nice men, only desiring a date with Aerie!

When we confronted Ployer, he threw another baby tantrum about how everyone ruins him as the mages didn't appear. I commented about how he could have ran a decent life had he spent less time plotting revenge and how pathetic he was that plotting revenge took more than ten minutes a day for him. Ployer attacked, and Jaheira found a use for her Staff-Spear after all! Too bad the body got stuck, so we went to the tavern and gave Korgan Ployer's carcass stuck on the spear. Korgan thanked us for a fine meal.

We went back to my Keep and rested for a few days. A group confronted us of Galverey's death and I let Jaheira tell them about my father. They mocked me for having such a dorky father, but decided not to fight because I seemed cool. Revianne also patted Minsc's butt on the way out.

We rested some more, and a messenger eventually informed me that Lord Roenall was attacking my Keep! After much cussing from Nalia, as well as a description of how his grandchildren will feel the pain we'd inflict on him, we had a meeting with Major Domo and Captain Cenrick. Then we cast some spells and headed out quick.

Roenall yelled at me about how a peasant would never rule D'Arnise Keep (ignoring the fact that my dad is a God, so therefore I'm of "noble" blood) and then he and his forces attacked. Luckily, those traps I had set sprung and decimated half of his forces.

My friends quickly killed the rest, and it was time for me to fight Farthy. I parried, thrust, parried, thrust, but couldn't find a gap anywhere in his armor. After running under the sod's legs, he was in front of Nalia with sword held high!

I had no choice... I saw a gap and had to take it or he'd kill the girl. I thrust my sword forward, with what Minsc now affectionately calls the Super-Colonic-Like-Enema-Thrust! If Farthy had survived, he wouldn't be able to sit down for a year...

Oh and just so you know, Farthy emitted a chorus of shrill girlish wails after that thrust.
