Lord Lothar: IMO, ST2:TWoK is still the best of all Trek movies. Starting with 4, they went downhill from there. 5 and 6 barely qualify as worth watching for hardcore fans. None of the TNG films really turned my crank, though First Contact had it's moments.

The only movie I didn't really care for was 5, which has apparantly been excised from cannon, anyway.
Nemesis is trying to recreate Wrath of Khan. They said from the beginning that they wanted to have a Khan-like villain. Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . . . The other android, as noted elsewhere, is not Lore, but a third model created by Soong, named (supposedly) B-9 ("benign", get it?) In a remarkable ripoff of WoK and SfS, Data dies to save the ship, but prior to his death, downloads his personality to B-9, thus being reborn in a new body. Yes, Wesley had filmed scenes for the film, but Wil Wheaton (spelling?) himself said that they told him the scenes had to be cut, owing to the length of the film. (Hah! Sucker!! Sign me up for the "I hate Wesley" club) The film is being advertised as the last one with this cast. Contrary to other opinions, I don't think the cast is too old (although Riker really SHOULD move on to his own ship... Guess he really isn't concerned about his career.) The cast are mostly in their 40's, not 60's. I have never felt that anyone over the age of 25 is so old that they have to retire. That just iritates me. And... owing to the finale of Voyager, there really shouldn't be any challenges left for the Federation. After all, they now have SERIOUSLY advanced technology. Look what Voyager did to the Borg... Outfit a Sovereign class with that technology and it can destroy the entire Romulan Empire on its own... My guess is that Janeway destroyed that technology after getting home. Either that or the Temporal Enforcement Police (whatever they were called) took it all away and hid it. At least, they should have. [ 10-22-2002, 10:38 AM: Message edited by: Arnabas ]
