Wait...there's a continuation of the Sewer Quest after you solve the puzzle? O.o Like, you return the old man back to friends? I didn't know that...

You're talking about the remark vesselle made? It's not really a continuation as in "the quest isn't finished yet". If you talk to Quallo after you've retrieved Lilarcor, then he says "what happened? what am I doing here?" and then you can tell him what happened. Nothing special really.

CCs aren't "evil" in any reasonable sense of the world. They're animals, for goodness sake. Amoral, or neutral if you MUST use the silly D&D rules of alignment, which were obviously invented by someone of no philosophy at all (who sold shoes).

It is a worthy point to notice: you meet one CC earlier in the sewers, and it attacks you on sight. Whereas Quallo's friend is completely peaceful. One might argue that Quallo's friendship was a "good" influence on the CC, lol.

Concluding that one who has a CC for a friend must be "either ensorcelled or insane" tells me more about the one making the judgement than either Quallo or the CC. The consequence here being that, if Q is "ensorcelled or insane" anything done to him or his friend is acceptable? Or even "Lawful Good?"

Now, "disgusting," that I can get behind, although that's a matter of taste, after all. But I never anywhere saw rules of D&D that suggested it was LG to kill something just because it was "disgusting."

IMO, there is no way for an LG character to justify killing Quallo's friend and thus no way for him to acquire Lilarcor.

What about all those CCs in BG1? Your PC obviously fought all of those, whether you did or not.

Another reason your PC would consider them nasty nasties.
