First time I came across the lich in the Crooked Cane, it killed me very quickly.
So, I reloaded; hasted myself, cast some armour, Protection from Evil 10' Radius, went in there...
And the lich didn`t cast even ONE spell.

Anything involving Jan, Edwin, Edwina, the Spectator, or any combination is mithral in my book, as well as the three adventurers in Abazigal's lair. It's great how such a "serious" game (Oh my, child of a god of murder, chaos will be sown, beware your passing, etc.) can have so many moments like that. Sometimes I laughed so much I cried.

One of Jan's best moments is the finale of ToB. He saved his best material for the end...

Last night after I finished killing the shadow dragon, I stepped outside to fight the Shade Lord and who was waiting for me there but my faithful keep messenger. In the middle of me starting a huge fight with an undead lord and his hordes of minions, this guy calmly walks up to me and informs me that my keep is being invaded. How he found his way through the legions of shadows I'll never know but it was a damn impressive feat (or at least a quirky AI). I can imagine the two of them standing there together waiting for me. Wonder what that conversation went like.

"Hi, I'm here to inform the lord her keep's being invaded. What are you here for?"
"I'M HERE TO STEAL HER SOUL!!!"
"Right. Carry on."

my funniest moment, was when i was doing the trademeet quest, and i had cernd with me, in the form of a werewolf. My party was fatigued, and so i rested. During the rest i had one of the Irenicus youdon'tunderstandhowpowerfulyoucouldbe dreams, and the whole time, for whatever, cernd kept doing the death sequence (as a werewolf) standing up and dying, standing up and dying...the whole time! so all the while irenicus was talking, you could hear the steady repetitive thump of the body of a werewolf flopping to the ground. i couldn't stop laughing.

Similar to the Messenger & Shade Lord moment, I remember the time I pulled my Speed Run through Chapters 1-5: We had only Rested twice in the entire game before we were back in Athkatla for Chapter 6. But we skipped so many quests that the place was just swarmed with messengers: Nalia had to go to her dad's funeral, Jan had to go talk to his cousin Beloo, this little nagging boy named Delon wanted something, some Githyanki dude was nattering about a sword blade, etc. "Go away, you people, I haven't slept since the boat ride to Brynnlaw!"

Aye, did all that happen when you were "waylaid" by "enemies" on your way back to Athkatla after talking to the Elhan? In the clearing? That happened to me too, and not only were the "enemies" there, but also Reviane and Delon.
"Hey, Ma'am, what're you doing here?"
"I'm here to kill Mara."
"Uh-oh, but she needs to help us at the Umar Hills first!"
"Well, tough luck, kid. Maybe Terminsel can help, but Mara's going down!"
At that point the "enemies" start placing bets: Will Reviane and company prevail, or will Mara and company?
It would be fun to do that on purpose.. start as many quests as you can that require people to come and get you, then go to the Underdark.

The guy who summons Anomen: "Excuse me, coming through, high priority!"
Keep dude, channeling the spirit of C-3PO: "Miss Nalia? Miss Nalia, are you here?"
Beloo:
Another Keep dude: Hey, the keep's under attack!
Delon: So's the Umar Hills!
Degarden: Shut up, you brat, or I'll cast Silence on you.

Do all the Trademeet quests and leave Cernd as a werewolf the whole time. When the High Merchant finally awards you with a statue in your name, go visit it. You'll notice that it looks like a boring statue except for the where Cernd's statue should be standing is a statue of a werewolf! I thought that was kinda funny.

In Abazigal's Lair the "Bondari Reloads" cinematic is the funniest part in BG2.

What cracked me up best was the following scene:
(POSSIBLE SPOILER!!)
.
.
.
.
.
Those of you who had the courage and the patience to romance Aerie as well, recognize the conversation I'm talking about. I was walking in the sewers between the Copper Coronet and the slaver ship, when I decided it was time to take a rest; I clicked the rest button, and just about then Aerie told me that she loved being with me, cos we visited a lot of beautiful places (or something like that). I was like: "Yeah right. Look around, this sewer is totally dirty." But okay, we started to sleep, and Aerie thought it was necessary to continue the romance. She started talking to me, and eventually invited me to sleep with her.. in that disgusting sewer!! What a sense of romance some girls have. Of course I accepted (it was my first game of BG2), and I really, really wonder now how that night must have been for those two.. Yukh!

I also recall another event when Nalia (whine!!!) was telling me "How can we help the less fortunate, trudging around here". On that moment I had already played BG2 for some time (a couple of hours) and was starting to feel a bit irritated being nice all the time. So I saved, and decided to randomly kill a bunch of people. Nalia (killing off a bunch of children) then suddenly told me that sentence. It cracked me up so bad, I almost fell of my chair
