Even if you're against abortion, I think "doing right" would be putting the kid up for adoption. A 13-year old should NOT be raising a child.

If by "we" you mean Finland then you are wrong.
The ages may have changed but the laws are basically the same.
Statutory rape, Article 3, Chapter 20 of the Finnish Penal Code

I think that the age of consent is 15 in Sweden. Though they made some changes lately (I think), so that if, for example, a 17-year-old has sex with a 14-year-old, it is not punishable, since their ages are quite close. Anyway, I think they look at the circumstances a bit more, and not just at their ages.

But the artical dosen't give any details like that.


He had sex with a 13 year old, and got her pregnant, there is no arguing with that.

But did he know she was 13 when he first met her, What if it'd had been at a bar, I know to be carefull in the pubs in town, see more than a few young teenagers in there on the weekends.

If he met her at a bar, that had someone at the door chucking out underage people, would he have thought to ask her age if she looked physicaly mature, yea maybe he should have, maybe he did and she lied.

What could he have done, he's in an adult location, with what appears to be a young adult, who talks like a young adult, and tell's him she's a young adult, maybe he's a little drunk so doesn't notice anything odd about her.

I suppose he could have asked to see some ID proving her age, but if it's good enough to fool the doorman, what chance does he have?

I was on the girls end of things, a young woman, a bit older than me didn't know I was under the age of consent, she asked me my age, I could have lied, I could have fooled about with her.

What would have happened to the woman if anyone found out. She lose her job working with kids, and suffer a prisson sentence, and be put on the sex offenders register. Would she have deserved it.

So I'm saying, don't hang the guy unless you know what's going on, he might have been clueless to her real age untill after the deed was done.

I don't know... You can usually tell when someone is 13. I'd let 17 or even 16 get by, but this is 13. And they shouldn't be married... That's downright absurd.
