We could start with the "stans" Afghanistan, Ubekistan, Petrostan, etc.. Then move into the I's, Iran, Iraq, etc.. You do fully understand that most law abiding decent folks in that part of the world have very little human rights, don't you? People come and go from power through military coups, armed assassination, or what not. The folks of the places that you don't understand do not have the privilege of using the internet, there is no cable, much less any free world TV. CNN is not even in their vocabulary. What ever our PYSOPs boys and the BBC can pump in their is all they have that is not dictated from the dictator. Don't forget the crew that took the ultimate sacrifice to blow a hole into the side of the USS Cole. Who do you think they voted for? Would it have mattered to them if YOU were on that boat? Yes you can call Bush a dictator.
There is more than one definition for this word, you know. It can mean one of the following: a)An absolute ruler. b)A tyrant; a despot. c)One who dictates; one who prescribes rules and maxims authoritatively for the direction of others. d)someone who rules unconstrained by law Originally, the word described "An ancient Roman magistrate appointed temporarily to deal with an immediate crisis or emergency" I imagine that definition 'C' is what most people mean when they label Bush as a 'dictator'... (Or possibley 'D' if they are referring to international law) |
