At very high levels the mage/cleric is actually the most powerful class of all - not the least reason for this being their ability to put the HLA quest spells into chain contingencies. So, for example, your mage/cleric can set it for three devas to arrive on sight of an enemy (chain contingency ignores summoning limits) - cheesy, but very effective.

Before the HLAs are acquired, the sorcerer is the most powerful class. TheGodThatFailed - I would suggest that you're using the wrong spells. SixOfSpade has good advice for the best sorcerer picks. I gave up with my solo sorcerer because it was all getting to be too easy to be fun.

Don't try to fight with your mage/cleric - stand back, buff them up with everything useful, and then start lobbing spells in. With a full compliment of mage and cleric spells, they will not run out before the end of a battle, and the spells will do far more damage than a bow.

Yes, but using spells for every battle means you will have to rest three times a level. Of course you could only use their spells for the hard battles but that would mean that they would spend 90% of their time doing nothing. Why not just replace her with a turnip?

Nope. As a cleric you should have high enough wisdom to get the option to have all your spells back when you cast Wish - show me the turnip that can do that. Once your mage/cleric gets level nine spells you need never rest again.

You will have completed the game by the time you have aquired enough experience to cast level 9 spells if only half your exp is going to the mage class.

one of the delights of my playing through SoA/ToB time and time again is taking the stupidly multi-classed and useless Aerie through the game.

In order not to spoil the game for ya: are you sure you want all those different alignments and personalities in one party? You've definitely got some differing worldviews in there.
Like i said, a druid. About the npc's, in the biograph, can i find more informations about them ? Why are they so diferent ?

The Wizard Slayer/Mage are the coolest one. =) Thanks.
And sorry about the delay in my post.

Don't worry about the delay.

In terms of Shapeshifter, yeah that's a very good idea. My one thing would be that they can't cast spells while in werewolf form (without mods.) Why not try a totemic druid?

I would recommend reading the biographies, and also considering the different personalities, and how they would interact.

Shapeshifters are a great class, but there is a good npc shapeshifter. It's better to make your main character something which there are no NPCs for eg Assassin, Sorcerer or Monk. (Or a second fighter but I don't suppose if your PC is a shapeshifter you're going to take Cernd as well).
