It does, only not where you where probaly looking, it is in your note book (something like that), not in your Quest log.... they are both in your Journal but have different pages...

They are not a big deal in chapter six, nonetheless.
But in Nalia's str. they are. Giant trolls show a not-so-nice tendency not to die. I whack and slash and chop, dealing fifty's of damage per round, and he is happily standing there being "near death" for a few turns. Die, dammit.
