Sorsha
How long had it been since they were on the run? For eternity, it seemed. And there was no sign of the chase drawing to a close... I am tired, so very tired... he is right. So very right... The arrows zip by; one grazes his arm; she feels his momentary tension. But he continues to sprint ~ "Hurry, Sorsha! Before they get us!" ~ Gasping for air. I can't take it! For the love of the gods, why are we running? Why won't he tell me?! ~ They tear down the alleys, dodging in and out of crowds, hearing the agonised screams behind them... She twitches in her sleep, her breathing shallow. Her forehead is damp with perspiration. "There is something I must tell you, Sorsha... something that I found out about your past..." ~ "No, wait! This... this did not happen. You spoke nothing of my past... where are you, Justin? Are you talking to me now?" ~ All around, a brilliant white light. She hears his voice, but sees nothing else ~ "It does not matter, just listen to me..." ~ He sounds fatigued, yet urgent ~ "You were hounded by Cedric, who wanted you dead. He is dead, and it is your duty to rule the kingdom..." ~ "No! I want nothing of it! Justin... I... I love someone else... I can't do it..." ~ The pain, it drives so forcefully into her that it must be real! ~ "I understand. You were enamoured with me. The first young man that came across your path... it was an infatuation, nothing more." ~ Is it her imagination? The tone of his voice... resigned, a little bitter... ~ "But I cannot blame you for that. You were naive, while I... I was the one who had seen the world and charmed it. But that is not all I have to say..." ~ "What is it then?" ~ More intrigue... more prophecies, perhaps. Does she want to hear them? "You have no choice." ~ She gasps; he reads her mind so easily ~ "Ah, but I am not a mortal now, Sorsha. I am compensated with some other abilities." ~ Again, that ironic tone. She winces, feeling wretched and yet unshaken by her newfound love ~ "As I was saying, your duty is to rule the kingdom that your father left and which Cedric usurped. Now, another warlord, Bazguul covets this position. You must overcome him." ~ "You mean I have no choice?!" ~ Half-stunned by the indignation and vehemence ringing in her own voice ~ "You may not defeat him, in fact you will not be in time to partake in the battle. But your duty..." ~ "No more word of duty! I am sick of hearing it!" ~ "... if you'll just let me finish, Sorsha... you have a sister." "A sister?" ~ Her jaws drop ~ "Who and where is she?" ~ "That is for you to find out, Sorsha... and when you do, persuade her to take your place." ~ His voice is fading, though the envious tone is very much apparent ~ "And then, you can get on with your own life... and...love..." ~ The light, too, dims, and soon, darkness falls... In reality, she tosses and turns, muttering darkly before uttering a single cry of surprise. Her eyelids fly open and she sees the ceiling, then the fireplace and... Legolas. Ni Deng
The monk, with both his arms still attached, noticed what Addison was about to do, and moved closer. "You will not be wanting to keep that trinket, young one. It is having a most corruptive nature and it enjoys killing those who resist. You killed the creature, and now it is being yours by right." He pointed to the entrance of the ex-daemon's lair. "In there, I will show you, yes? It is destroyable with what we find there, and Carrick cannot be fighting you much now with so much power used just now." Not seeing any direct objections, he lead Addison inside, past the bodies and the blood, through a number of rooms. A single guard bolted when he heard their footsteps. Finally, Ni Deng stops in a stone room with green tapestries hanging from the walls. He lifts one aside and shows Addison the passage behind it. His accent falls away to make sure his information is transferred properly. "This path starts out a bit low, but it will grow wider later on. It leads to a magical hammer which is the only way to destroy the amulet, apart from Carrick breaking it from the inside out. Three mighty wizards gave their lives to create it. The smith killed himself as soon as he knew the weapon was stored away, to guard it's secret as well as possible. You will pass by a skeletal guardian on your right hand side. Hold up your other hand to ward it off, as if it were on the left side. Same on the way out. Once you get to it, first place the amulet on the triangular anvil you'll find there, then remove the hammer. Turn the anvil completely around so the point faces the entrance, then smash the amulet." He pauses. "Or, you can be keeping it and it's power for yourself and it's victims after you. Choose." |

ELIZA (As the demon lay dead, she flings herslf upon Blandamour, hugging his nesk)"Oh, my Lord, you were magnificent. And now, we are safe. Perhaps, tonight, we will celebrate." (She gives him a sultry look.)
GALADRIA (She and Isaura, given directions by the prophesied innkeeper, are nearing the town. She sees smoke over the wall, and smells blood. Cries and shouts emanate from the town.) |

Legolas
"Sorsha? Are you allright? You looked to be having a bad dream." He places his hand on her forehead again, feeling the temperature. It's not as bad as before, but he feels there is still cause for concern. The ranger rises from his chair and pulls on his shirt which had been drying by the fire, before returning to sit on the rim of the bed. He places her hand in his as he looks her in the eyes. He can't quite place the emotions flickering there, but he believes he can see a haunted look in them. Or maybe it was simply the reflection of the firelight that made it seem so. "Do you.. do you want to tell me what you saw in your dreams?" He remembers how vivid and painful delerious dreams dreams could be, and is quick to reassure her. "You don't have to, if you don't want to. It's just.. maybe you'll feel better afterwards. But you don't have to." |

OOC>>>I hope everyone enjoyed Bazguul'tek and the huge subplot. Now, I am one less PC in this forum! Maybe I will work on another nemesis, if you all think that I do an okay job at it.
By the way...Eliza should recognize that amulet if her memory is returned in full, and know that it (without the mage inside) belongs to Sorsha. Do as you seem fit and well. |

OOC>> Larry, I think that you did a fine job as a heavy. The bit about the amulet is news to me, though Gal says that she knew it, but that Eliza is too bent on jumping Blandamour to worry about amulets. IC>>
SIR BLANDAMOUR (to Eliza, grinning) "It seems to me that you were the one that had to rescue me, at the end. Thank you, lass. Yes, getting through a battle mostly intact is a ...er... stimulating experience. You shall have to bind my wounds, tonight [ 05-26-2002, 05:12 PM: Message edited by: Attalus ] |

ELIZA (She clasps Blandamour even more firmly; her face softens) "Wounded, my hero? Then we should get posthaste back to your tent, where I can examine them more closely. I am expert in bandaging. Look, the acid from the fiend's blood has etched your armor."
