Bazguul'tek
Being stopped by the spell that now held him bound to the ground, Bazguul still persisted on blasting the leader. Once the leader falls, the rest should wane in strength. The power of the amulet empowered Bazguul enough to send a surge of green electricl energy aimed at the paladin. The amulet was growing more hot by its persistant use, burning Bazguul's skin as it hung there. Pretty soon, either the amulet would break or the foolish mage inside would die, who was the powersource. |

OOC: Larry, I couldn't hope to take your place if you accidentally got yourself killed in a duel. You're risking leaving poor Mistral behind without your support and guidance
![]() Nontheless, although my heart weeps for the tragedy which is to come, I feel honour-bound to accept your challenge. Any day after Wednesday will probably be a good day to die IC: Legolas "That's right. We're here now." He is worried by her sudden weakness and the cold touch of her hand, but thinks it best not to let it show. Using his free hand, he tries to rub some warmth into hers, but wet as he is it has little effect. He gives up, and walkes her into the inn instead. Peeking into the common room, he sees there are more customers than last time. It could only be expected with this kind of weather. Their noise drownes out a bard's attempt at song, even though the bard was probably the reason many came here in the first place. A large fire is burning, two oxen roasting above it, and the room is comfortably warm. With Sorsha leaning heavily on him, he makes his way to the innkeeper instead of the fire. She needs a room first, the rest can wait. "Greetings, sir Innkeeper. Could we perchance spend the night in your fine establishment?" "Ain't nothin' too fine about it, elf. And we're full for the night. Best you hurry along, there's a chance ye'll reach the next town 'ere midnight." ".. I see. Thank you for your time." He turns to look at the shivering woman by his side, before turning his back on the innkeper and trudging off. The innkeeper noticed her poor state and called them back. "'Ere now, just wait a second. Maybe I can arrange somethin' for you yet. You've money, don't you? Course you do. It would be silly to enter an inn without resources. I'll have the stableboy light a fire for ye. Third room on the left. Tim! Come 'ere boy!" The ranger smiles his gratitude as he starts to follow Tim to the room. "Don't let it be said master Veral ain't got no heart, you hear." When they enter, Tim already has the fire going, and stands awaiting further tasks. Legolas throws him a coin, which he quickly snatches out of the air. "Nothing more Tim, thank you." "Sorsha, why don't you get out of those wet clothes and get some rest. I'll go pay the innkeeper, alright?" With that, he leaves the room again. |

With the flame creatures disposed of he again turned his attention to the demon that was still very much a threat. Aiming carefully he let another arrow fly at the now stationary demon. "Feel the might of the elves hell-spawn"

SIR BLANDAMOUR (As the demon lunged toward him, Shaitann did as he was trained to do and rears back, striking with his fore-hooves. Blandamour draws his sword, suitably enchanted, as all the weapons are, and strikes hard at the snake-demon, cutting through his left eye and lodging briefly in the bone of the lower eye-socket. His right arm is bathed in acidic ichor, burning him at the joints, particularly his wrist, but the Protection from Evil spell shields him from the worst effects. Shaitann continues to rear and dance around. Sudddenly, the snake=head catches him off-balance and knocks him off his horse, landing some feet away. He struggles to rise.)

ELIZA (Suddenly, Blandamour is aware that someone stands between him and the demon. It is Eliza, With her short sword, she strikes at the demon head again and again, keeping him away until her Lord can regain his feet.} "If I die now, fighting the demon, Heaven hold me justified, for I die in the service of Good and my Lord."

OOC>>>This is all I can think of to do!
Bazguul'tek Bazguul could no longer see out of one eye, as it was now a kabob on some stupid human's sword. He had heard the general direction in which the man fell, then heard the voice of the female nearer. Another damn arrow found its way into his torso, and Bazguul was waxing near death. Thinking of nothing else better to do, he began to roll fast toward the two paladins, intent on rolling over them with his massive weight. ************************************************** ******************* Raymond Raymond (still in panther form), saw the huge snake begin to roll toward Eliza, and had a sick feeling come over him. Rushing at top speed, he made it over to the snake and dug his claws and maw into the demon, trying to stop him, but the momentum of the snake's roll brought the panther spinning over Bazguul, and to be rolled over as he came around. The panther laid still, not moving. The snake's momentum had not been altered. A wolf's cry echoes throughout the city. [ 05-25-2002, 08:48 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

Sorsha
Her eyelids flutter involuntarily as the room seems to be shrouded with mist one moment, then clear another. Numbly, her fingers attempt to undo the clasp of her robe, barely succeeding. By now, her body is convulsing and she mumbles incoherently, surrendering to the sea of ice and fire bombarding her. Miraculously, she manages to get herself undressed and she hurriedly ducks under the blankets, wrapping them around herself tightly ~ Oh, heavens... what could I be thinking of... dancing in the rain... ~ Her teeth chattering, her mind slowly drifting ~ No dry clothes... how embarassing ... ~ And just as abruptly, the world turns to blackness... Rrang
The wail came from a long distance away, but he heard in nonetheless. Rrang howled. His family howled. Legolas The wolves howled in the forest. If they searched for him and Sorsha, they'd have little luck tonight. He was having little luck finding who he searched for himself. After paying the rent for the room, he had been keeping a lookout for any cleric which might wander by, but a drenched elf didn't get a whole lot of respect in a room full of half-drunk men and women. Not wanting to spend the last coins he brought on ale to get the barkeep to talk, all he could do was sit and watch. Asking random people about their profession would probably end in a brawl, and he didn't want any of that. He wasn't sure he needed a cleric, or that one would really help if he did. But it could not hurt to find out where he could go for help. As night sets in, he returns to their room. She seems asleep at the moment, but her forehead is indeed warmer than it should be. With only one bed, the elf thought he should probably sleep on the floor. Instead, he feeds the fire some more wood and draws up a chair to sit by the bed. |

Addison felt a surge of panic as Baz'guul starts to roll forward. He had hoped his colleagues would be able to finish the demon themselves, but the creatures strength and endurance were unbelievable.
He concentrated on the stone missile as he forced it to accelerate. He hoped it would be enough, but he couldn't be sure. The demon had withstood far more damage than he would have thought possible. As it's huge body rolled forward, Addison focused on it's head. The stone twirled through the air, very much like the stone of sling, only this missile weighed more than the mage himself. As Baz'guuls hideous head rose above his body, Addison sent the stone flying straight towards it's gaping maw. In his panic, he hadn't realized just how fast the stone was moving. It streaked into the open mouth of the demon faster than the arrows fired by the elven ranger. "DIE, YOU HELL-SPAWNED FIEND!" Addison yelled as the missile struck. The result was dramatic as the demon's head literally exploded into a cloud of reddish-orange mist. The stone had acted like a 200lb arrow, slamming into the back of the snake-fiend's mouth and up through it's head. The neck flopped forward onto the ground, stopping the momentum of the rolling body mere feet away from Eliza. Everyone stood still, staring at the body as wisps of acidic smoke rose from the neck. It took a moment for them to realize that the demonic Baz'guul was truly dead. Only then did they allow their guard to relax somewhat. The comrades (old and new) gathered around the body and introductions were made. As they talked, Addison spotted the amulet that had provided Baz'guul's power still looped around the demon's neck. He pulled a pair of gloves out of an inner pocket and slipped them on as he bent down to examine it. He was intrigued by all magical items, and one as powerful as this was especially fascinating. He peered closely at the item, mentally noting the superb craftmanship. He studied the links that formed the necklace, noting how they intertwined to secure the gem. Then he turned his attention to the gem itself. The depth of its beauty seemed to draw him in. He looked deeper and deeper into its magical hues. He wasn't completely surprised to see the form of a man trapped within it's depths. It wasn't unusual for items of this power to have a sentient intelligence and soul gems were certainly common enough. He was completely captivated by the amulet and reached to pick it up so that he could examine it more closely. [ 05-26-2002, 12:04 AM: Message edited by: Cerek the Barbaric ] |
