Verloren gasped at the elf's blunt tone and took a defensive stance in front of the dragon's massive head,
"Now wait just a minute, it's been through enough suffering without your adding to it," she turned her back on him and touched a horn tentivley, "I know you understand me, black one, do you think you will live?"

Alielis smiled grimly, "That's exactly my point; it's a black - and blacks are evil. We should put it down now - so it doesn't come back to haunt us. Stand aside." even though they'd only traveled together for a short while, Verloren could see that this was totally out of character for the elf, his armlet glowed and seemed to pulse, its ruby red eyes sparkling the colour of blood.

"No, I won't let you. If I save its life, it has that to owe me, and will not harm me. Dragons, no matter what color, put pride in keeping their word," she stroked his shiny scales and moved to inspect D.K.'s spear wound.

A shadow loomed over and it seemed to be growing dark for some reason...
