I think Afghanistan is one of the most ugly countries in the world, nothing but desert and mountains and totally screwed up towns.

France. I don't want to offend anyone here, but it's just not the place for me.

Why isn't France the place for you, Arledrian? Just curious...

It's not so much France that bothers me, it's the people in it. So I suppose writing this under 'ugliest country' isn't really right. I've just been treated badly every time I've visited France, many people there seem to hold a certain grudge towards foreigners. I've been kept waiting over an hour in two different restaurants on different occasions because they couldn't/didn't want to serve me. Probably because of the language barrier, but I really don't mind using a bit of sign language if need be. But that's just a single example, I have many more. Again, it's probably all just a clash of cultures and mentality, but I've visited France five times and can't say I've ever really enjoyed my stay there. I'm sorry if this insults anyone, I didn't really want to write this, but K T Ong provided the proverbial elbow in my rib

And Johhny's right, I don't like wine. I'm a beer man

It was just a very slight nudge, okay?

Dunno about French contempt for foreigners, but I thought the French composers Debussy and Ravel were just great. Just my views, okay, Arledrian?
That's fine with me, but please note that I tried not to use the word 'contempt' or anything similar, I think that's far too strong a word

Ok now here's what i think, there's beauty in everything that exists, nothing absolutely nothing is without beauty, even chaos and evil are beautiful.

Hooray for Wacky! I couldn't agree more. There is no universally beautiful country, because some like mountains, others jungles or deserts, and people all over the world are different, some are good some are bad and the same goes for cultures or governments.
