I've been a longtime Star Trek fan but I admit, Enterprise didn't catch and hold me like other offerings in the fold. Even the buffed up Scot Bakula couldn't keep me there...

I watched half of the first season and then sporadically caught a few episodes after that. I think the writers are hack jobbers who don't quite get the whole Star Trek theme/atmosphere or else they've just gone so far off the mark as to make this a totally different show that might as easily be called "The Alien we don't know squat about, can't possibly understand and will mess with this week, show".

It just didn't hold my attention and that's saying something, because I really had high hopes for it. The premise was to make it a 'rough and ready' version of Start Trek in contrast with the Next Generation and DS9 where 'civilization' was pretty well set and they were only encountering new races/arguments periodically. This show was supposed to be a 'wild west, exploration' kind of thing. It fell wide of the mark, in my opinion.
