I tried that tactics - cast CloudKill so that it touches the beast. But thay have too much magic resistance so all my spells are cast in vain. And also, when the dragon gets on low hp he just heals himself and there seems to be No way of disrupting this spell, even if not being out of its sight. It just heals and every my effort goes void!

Is there any way of disrupting the healing?? If I could do it, then horrid wittings would beat the beast down completely

And what is the counter to that black dragon breath?? what resistance affects it?
Anything directly in front of the Dragon will get buffeted away. As such, position your fighters behind the Dragon while your summons distract it in front.

The Black Dragon's breath is acid-based( if I am not mistaken), but if you follow what I just advised, the summons will get it, not your fighters( who are safely behind).

Minsc is wielding a vorpal weapon, after the Doom and the Greater Malison, the Dragon's saves will be terrible. Just make sure you cast 3-4 Lower Resistances before you cast any other spells.

Finger of Death is another excellent spell to use on the Black Dragon.
