I think those of you who say PS2 sucks, and Xbox rules, are seriously mistaken. You are really just looking at the hardware aspects...ok, DVD playback on the DVD sucks.....I know, my copied DVD's wont work...BUT.....

The PS2 beats every other console in one HUGE area. The games licenses.

The X-box might have a 10GB hard-drive, and sweet graphics, but it doesn't have the licenses to make it last. It will be the same as the N64 was, cracking console, not enough good games. Zelda, Mario, Bajo Kazooie, all great. But not enough.

The PS2, will spout lots of games, alot shit. But on the whole, will produce more quality titles.

Metal Gear Solid 2, GT3, GTA3, FFX - These games count.

Also, the X-Box, physically, is HUGE. Too big for a console.

And this debate really is pointless, as the console war has already been faught. In Japan,it has been raging. X-box has lost millions. PS2 has made millions. It will run the same course over here too......

Keep smilin'

I'm thinking about getting a game cube, but am slightly worried about its life expectancy. I got the N64 and that it was the dog's, untill it stopped producing any quality games. Bit of an Arse. PS seems to have literally thousands of games so you have a huge selection to choose from. I'm yet to be swayed either way.

I think I'll just get myself a TV card and a flat screen monitor instead....

in japan Dreamcasts outsold PS2s and you're wrong when you say sony has all rights to Grand Theft Auto, Unfortunetly microsoft purchased it from Rockstar Games, along with Several sega titles including Dead or alive, which in my opinion, was way better than Virtua fighter *I just unlocked EIN by the way, he's coool and has a trenchcoat * The Xbox's Hardrive also sports alot of memory and if you haven't played halo then you haven't experienced true X-box potential! (online halo that is) I wish i had a cable modem >_<

oh and the X box is big so that it can EXPAND, and the voice chat is great + You're missing a MAJOR detail:

The PS2 can only read DVDs that hold up to 5X speed data.. the X-Box can read ALL DVDs including 9X and the new 11X ones @_@... + you can copy Cds and play Mp3s

Gosh i hope RBF doesn't read what i just said 'lest he'll beat me down good...

I have a GameCube, and it's cool, there's some games I can't wait to get. I'd also like to have a PS2 though, because there are also some really fun games. I can do without XBox though.

I actually wanted a gamecube more than my playstation 2. Unfortunately I ended up with a Playstation 2 anyway. I've always liked nintendo, but Sony's got Square and most of the good RPG's are on a PS2 anyhow. When the new Zelda, Mario Sunshine, and Metroid Prime come out i'll be getting that gamecube though.

Ian Virtua Fighter 4 is *so* much better than Dead or Alive 3. Tekken beats them all though.

Oh and you *must* get SSBM. It's much better than the original, and yes that is possible. I'm good with every nearly every character in the game. Or at least I used to be. Haven't played in awhile...
