Why do sorcerers need wisdom#? i thought their prime requisite was Intelligence.

(these may be dumb questions, but I have never played a magick user before)

Not to sound snide, but if you have never played a magic user before, why the sudden jump to soloing as a Sorcerer? You can try partying with a Sorcerer first, to get an idea on how to use spells to defeat your enemies. Spell tactics are very different from Physical tactics. Anyway, WIS is needed in order to improve your choices with Limited Wish and Wish.

Okay, thanks. I have played 2 chapters with a sorcerer in my party before, I kind of got annoyed when I used spells which killed my party members.

wisdom is good for a mage when he casts limited wish, and wish spells, nothing more. supposedly, if you solo, you CANT beat the TOB boss without the wish spell, but i have yet to beat TOB, let alone solo it.

You can beat the ToB boss with a solo Sorcerer, without using Wish, but it sure ain't gonna be easy, in fact, it will be periliously close to impossible.

Talking of the wish spell, isn't it funny when you go into battle and cast wish.
"You work out a long contract carefully worded" or something, i find that kind of hard to beleive in a battle unless the genie slightly shifts you between planes so they can't hurt you.

Yeah... I always had to suspend my disbelief for that one. It's not as though your Sorcerer can tell the Demon, "Yo, timeout", and starts negotiating with the Genie before resuming to kick the Demon's butt.

Add in "I am running out of air, gotta get pumped" then proceed to pump up your Reeboks, and you too can feel like you're in the middle of a Mel Brooks' film!

Do you know... Praying Mantisss?
You're lookin' at 'em!

I think one thing that would have been nice for limited wish is if Minsc or one of the other characters would try and put in their say the first time you try. I wanna know what Minsc would say Boo wants. Like the time he talked about evil and how because of evil Boo never has clean wood shavings. I could see him go up to genie. "BOO DEMANDS CLEAN WOOD SHAVINGS IN THE NAME OF GOODNESS!!!" Or something to that effect. I also think Aerie should be able to get her wings back, even if there was some kind of longly drawn out quest of some kind to get a genie lamp and wish them for her. What I would have included if I could have had my 2 cents on the topic of wishes is that each character can be 'given' something by limited wish. Boo gets clean wood shavings, Minsc a 'bigger sword', Aerie her wings, Jaheria a nice peice of tape for which to shut her mouth (I know that was rude hehe), Anomen would probably want justice for his sister's death. You could still make all the things 'limited' but still something they would like. You don't have to bring back Anomen's sister to find out who did it. Giving Aerie her wings back could bring about the problem of her not being strong enough to use them, so you have to give her one of the belts of strength or something. Many options for many possibilities. Maybe even be selfish and keep the wood shavings for your own hamster and tell Minsc that Boo will just have to wait. ~wink~

Umm, It's an interesting concept!

I know I said something about giving Aerie a quest to get her wings back when the lady from biowareposted on IW a couple of months back.
