LOL, yeah Angel pretty well sucked as far as powers went, at least until Apocalypse got ahold of him.

Angel was weak. Archangel was not. That's enough.

Most of the original X-Men were weak, which made for a better team concept. Cyclops was their powerhouse, which is sort of laughable now that everyone's been powered up so much.

It isn't so much that the original X-Men were "weak" but the writers of the stories didn't have the time to consider all uses for various powers.
Consider Jean Grey's telekinesis. Not too terribly powerful, but extremely useful. Hold someone's eyes closed--they can't see. Study anatomy then squeeze their medulla oblongata--they fall unconscious from the pain. Squeeze shut their aorta for a few seconds then let it go--instant coronary thrombosis. Cyclops' beam. How narrow can he focus it? What if he could focus into the width of a centimeter? A millimeter? Since his power seems to defy the laws of motion (his beam pushes out but doesn't push him backwards) he could stand on the deck of a ship, spread his beam out, and propel the ship. Also, studying the energy of his beams could lead to non-Newtonian motion. I must admit, though, that Angel falls really short here. He can fly. Ok. Other than tactical advantage that can't be used in interesting new ways.

Well, he can fly REALLY FAST, lol. Also, I thought he had superior human strength, as well. Not necessarily "super-human" as we would think, but still more than normal humans. Atleast, that was the impression I got. Oh, and him being a millionaire-playboy should be enough, anyways.

The trailer was really sweet, but where is gambit?
Are they really going to do 3 movies without any screen time for my favorite cajun? I'll go anyway and will still love the film, just confused why they wouldn't put him in, i thought he was one of the more popular Xmen

Gambit is dead. Well, at least he should be dead. I can't stand him and never could.

I haven't read any comics for a while, but isn't Gambit about to become Apocalypse's new Death horseman?
I just think he's better in very small doses. Very small. |
