One of my favourite scenes was the following,
Quote:

Fiona throwing "Ariel" to the sharks in the beach scene. HAHAHA!

lol Dundee, that part was great

My favorite was,
"Tell a lie, say you're wearing women's underwear!"
"Uh...I'm wearing women's underwear," *nose doesnt grow*
"...*Are* you wearing women's underwear?"
"No! Never!" *pants are pulled down*
"IT'S A THONG!" *snaps it* rofl

I was laughing the hardest at the hairball scene though...that and whenever Puss made those puppy eyes, lol

Shrek 2 hasn't come out in Australia yet...it comes out in June...but yes i have seen the previews for it, and it does look excellent.
Many movies like Shrek these days aren't child orientated.
Although i don't know why.

I think it's not that Shrek is not child oriented, but that the Shrek movies appeal to both kids and adults, especially compared to such movies as Finding Nemo which is mostly children oriented.

Funnier than the original; though the fairytale element remain, more of the spoof references are from other movies (both new and classic ones) and American pop culture...that is, the more movies you've seen, the funnier the movie is going to be
I will have to agree with you on that one Teardropmina. I think you are right that it is both appealing to kids and adults.
I'm not sure about finding Nemo though...I quite enjoyed that one as well

To be honest, I personally feel that adding a large number of pop culture references in a movie is a sign of weakness, a copout of sorts - sure, people will laugh nowadays, but movies with too many of those references don't tend to age very well.

Alien and Indiana Jones), the movie might as well. However, when it's all said and done, imo, Shrek might be more memorable than Shrek 2 precisely because of Shrek 2's heavy references of its time. 10 years from now, Shrek 2 might be remembered becasue of Puss In Boots though

Finally went and saw it today (and yes, there was a bunch of kids there; there was one particularly annoying one that asked his mother questions every 5 seconds at the top of his lungs). I thought that it was very funny, not quite as good as the first one, but still funny. Antonio Banderas did a great job with Puss In Boots. I love the part where he does the puppy dog eyes right before fighting the guards. I also liked John Cleese as Fiona's father. Having been through an awkward dinner with the parents before, I loved the whole "competition" between Shrek and the king. I also stuck around for the credits, and liked that scene at the end (completely out of left field). I also liked the scene based on Cops (they find the baggie of catnip, etc.).

I absoulutly adored Puss N' Boots, the best part of Sherk 2. Any scene with him was great and I loved the banter between him and Donkey.
