Wow, why didn't I come over to this book forum before!!! Cugel series by Jack Vance - yes hilarious. Have just spent 10 minutes trying to chase up the 3rd Cugel the Clever book. Checked my 2 bookcases, and ended up dragging them out of box #2 in the closet (hmm - 700-800 is probably about how strong my library is too - never estimated it before). Anyway, there is a 3rd Cugel book, but it wasn't by Jack Vance. The name is "Quest for Simbilis" by Micheal Shea. I thought it was a good effort, but not quite up with the original Vance.

ISBN 0-586-06549-0 if you're interested.

Hi Davros, glad you told me about the third book! I had no idea, guess I'll have to see about getting it then. Thanks for the info!

I have read that several times - I haven't seen the film, but I heard it was really bad.

Book is good though - I hope no-one has been put off reading it.
LoA is right when he says that some of it plods - it is a great big thick thing and I like the first half best, but the slow moving bits don't last that long. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars out of 5. If it finished half way through it would get 4.5 out of 5. If that makes any sense. It's really late here and my brain isn't working properly!

An epic tale and most definitly a classic of fantasy the Lord of Alcohol rates this series at ***** stars (out of five).

I've loved that series for years...
I've got the Audiobook series on mp3, and listen to it when I'm putzing around on the boards or working...
