Ankheg plate is good. It is inferior to full plate, but full plate might be too heavy for some, like Bramwen. Only 1 item of protection can be worn at a time, so if you have a ring of protection, you can not wear the amulet of protection or cloak of protection. You can wear cloak of Balduran though.

In some cellar below some BG Inn (I think). Check pretty much any walkthrough, I am not that far yet.

first you need to get the quest from the mage in the house north east of the helm and cloak inn. eventually after following his hints you will find it in the brothel beneath the blushing mermaid inn

I think youre wrong DaPoo, the mage that asks you to get the baldurans items is in the North Western map of BG, the same where Entars Estate is. Follow his instructions and you´ll have to meet Quenash. As there is no clue where is she, I´ll tell you she´s in the Undercellar.

I entered nashkel about Level 6 and 7 because I went to the High hedge instead, when Iwas in beregost and thenn killed a bunch of sirines for loads of experience after going left again from high hedge. EASY!!
