That's the crazy thing... you don't NEED to sell these things 'that might come in handy'. You're pretty much assured by selling all the dumbstuff you don't need to have enough cash to instantly inflate the economies of Faerun's major countries to poverty levels if you ever invested it. Being a hoarder just seems to happen.

the only thing i hoard is potions that increase your stats so when i use the deck of many things i am almost always guaranteed the best outcomes. star and moon are my favorite cards to pull

For the last battle in ToB I had 2 potion cases completely full, 2 scroll cases, wands coming out of all visible orifices and random other items floating about that I could use. I spent all of ToB hoarding these for the last battle.... then I forgot all about them, and used nowt but healing potions. *sigh*

I believe that the best way to make the game hard is to play it as a one death and its over style. Try and go all the way through without having to reload (bugs problems or crashes not included) and keep from getting killed. NOW THAT is no easy trick let me tell you. Kill the reloading option and you'll find that resting can be a lot more dangerous than before, and you'll become much more careful of which rooms you stumble into. As far as heroic things, just try and stay alive and keep party members alive is more than enough.

I certainly agree... First time against Improved Gromnir caught me off guard. Stupid siren casting Flesh to Stone on everybody and then everybody failing all saves... Of course, the second time, I ripped through Gromnir like a wet paper bag in a windstorm. I wouldn't have had problems the first time, but my Berserker/Thief was sitting at level 3 thief... If you try the 'in and out' style of doing quests, they get super easy. Heck, I made it through the entire Planar Prision in under 3 turns. lol Potion of Speed had some notable time left on it. That was with a solo Beastmaster. Oh yeah, try a solo Beastmaster for something interesting. Well, if you can over that complete lack of armour until you either buy bracers of defence AC 3 or kill shadow dragon, you should do just fine... 1 death way can get very tedious sometimes. Hard to do on a solo I bet. |

For all your hoarders out their, try using a solo Kensai. You will soon learn just how much you love using all those Potions of Invincibility and just how much fun it is to buy them too.
