MuffinGirl: Fog of War just refers to the fact that your people can't see around corners and such. Even though you can scroll around with your cursor and "see" the features of the map, your people have to have a "line-of-sight" to truely see any monsters/NPCs (for talking or fighting). Basically, anything outside of your little radius of sight (which seems too small to be realistic, imo) is considered in the "fog of war".

Dundee is hinting at using the Fog of War to your advantage in trying to get to the box. If you wanted a more detailed explaination (spoiler), just ask.

It's not that hard to figure out, really. The great thing about the Fog of War in this situation is that once you're out of sight, people/objects you can have a dialogue with disappear from sight, as does the way the mouse pointer looks when you would normally mouse over such a person/thing. This means, that once your characters can't see the statue anymore (i.e. when the Fog of War clouds their vision), you can click on the eye of the statue to retrieve the treasure without accidently starting a new dialogue when you didn't intend to.

In the mindflayer lair in the underdark there is a table, you can click on this table and there is some stuff on there. But if you press tab you see that there's yet another "container" on that table, is there any way to access this "container"?

Usually the inaccessible containers (I recall a locked, unopenable chest somewhere) contain nothing special, how intriguing it may seem. I suspect that this is nothing different, but, of course, I could be horribly wrong (which I, if I'm truthful, am more than I would want)
