I had an interesting experience - my main character, a tank, got charmed. So - everyone else runs away. I ran into... two ogres, six hobgoblins, three ghouls, three wolves who ALL followed me as I couldn't stop to fight them. When the spell wore off I was running through the woods with a giant pack of monsters behind me. So... do NOT send your main tank up front!

Never thought to try stinking cloud against them. That's a great idea. Evidently the Sirenes don't have magic resistance, at least to 'breath' spells...

How about increasing the challenge and having a mage take then out all by himself? You'd have to draw them out of the fog of war one at a time, rest after each battle, etc., I guess. Generally you would be encountering them when the party is low to mid level. So I wonder what other spells, no higher than level 3 let's say, would also do the trick? Web would be probably be as good as Stinking Cloud... Slow and Lightning Bolt might work...

Or by the same token if you're trying this with a cleric, maybe first cast Holy Might and either Flame Blade or Spiritual Hammer, then cast Silence and Entangle on them and take them out with the magical melee weapons.

Addendum: Just tried soloing against a sirene and her hobgoblin escort with a level 7 mage who was wearing a RoW (so that she could have 8 level 1 spells slots; also had 4 level 2 slots, and 2 level 3 slots). My goal was to take just one sirene out without potions or wands:

1) Haste. Use Protection from Evil and Armor, Shield, or Mirror Image. Cast Invisibility and approach to reveal just one sirene.
2) Cast Blind on the sirene.
3) Cast Sleep on the hobgoblins. You'll need two Sleep spells.
5) I used Call Lightning, Melf's, and Magic Missile to finish off the sirene. For the remaining sirenes in an area (there were three sirenes in the lighthouse map area by the beach where I encountered them) you could leave the area (after killing the sleeping hobgobs of course), rest, and do it again. But I just went ahaed and took the other two in the area out with with a lightning wand. This is a lot easier with wands of sleep, fear, and lightning of course.

Yeah Lemernis, I got them with another tactic too last year. See, the sirines only have like two spells each (maybe three, but think its two). So I just kept my party away and sent one fighter in and just let him get hit. Once he was charmed, he just stands there, she just stands there (cause you are no longer a threat), spell wore off, she cast another, etc. When she ran out of spells, he took her out easily. I repeated the process until all sirines were gone, took a while though, and my party kept getting attacked by random creatures while they were waiting. But I DID get them!!

That certainly is one way, Ladyzeke, but the problem with it (that I find, anyway) is that when they're out of spells they start using their bows. I don't like them firing their Arrows of Biting at me, and I'd like to use those arrows myself, against the Flesh Golems.(best damn strategy I've ever found against the Fleshies!)

Well I always used haste and kept said fighter right next to said sirine, so they never used their bows! Plus I lured each one out, so I only took on one at a time, can't use this tactic with two or three of them, you are right!

This works for only fighting one sirine. Try having two guys with arrows strike. When the sirine try casting a spell, disrupt the spell with your OWN spell. After the first spell is disrupted, it gets pretty easy so send ONE fighter up while leaving the bow and arrowers bowing and arrowing. After the sirine dies, take her arrows of biting. And use them on the next sirine, it gets easier and easier and easier after each kill cuz you get more and more arrows of biting.
