Not at all if you ask me .. heck, 5% is the chance of getting a critical hit.
Ever counted the total critical hits your character made at the end of SoA ?
I hope your charisma is high

Your probably right Daan, wouldn't it be reasonable to do it like this.

10% chance of every succsesfull hit wielders charisma is lowerd by 2 points for 40 seconds (something like this?)

Because I want this Ninja-To (Wakizashi) to be usable, not an annoying weapons that is mostly neglected due to its severe penalties...

Thoughts... edit... comments?

[add] Its a typo, if you see Sortaghions description (custom katana) you will see I know its Wu Jen , but this was only a test version of the actuall description (litteraly filled with typos) but thx for the pointer

The temporary CHA penalty is much better, as is the weapon itself. (Permanent CHA drain only invites RoHI cheese.) And I like the fact that the Poison is negated with a successful Save--if you had allowed half-damage, all Stoneskinned Mages would still be hosed, no matter what.

O yea the -2 for forty seconds is good. Youcould think of it as the character using it goes into like a killing spree enjoying himself and when other people see this they get freaked out. Good Job, now we just need all these nice custom items into one big pack

Actually, you might want to change the target of the attribute drain. You could run some tests to make sure, but since the RoHI SETS charisma to 18, it might make you immune to the temporary drains.

Of course, if that's true, then you can't use STR or DEX drain either, since there are items that set those values too. You could have it drain wisdom, intelligence or constitution though. Draining CON would be interesting because you would lose your bonus hps when you get nailed by it as well. I would suggest WIS though, since many fighters skimp on WIS for their other stats, and it makes it different from mind flayers (imagine using an intelligence draining sword at the same time as getting hit by flayers!)

I think it would be kind of cool to have a sword that had a chance to stat-kill you if you used it too fast and furious.

I've tried stat-killing using an archer's called shot before, you can kill someone with 12 or less STR that way if you get lots of hits in one round, but the STR drain only lasts 1.5 rounds. Making yours last 40 seconds makes it possible to drain a good number of points if you roll badly on the 10%'s.

I think the newest version of your sword sounds cool, and I like that you're helping out ninja-tos because I always wanted there to be some good ones.

I had an idea for your vampire-killing bolts based on what that one guy in this thread said about it being forgable. Why dont you make it a crossbow instead and give it a limited use (like wand charges) of the special crossbow bolts ? Eg a special ability that could be only used 3-5 times but had a high chance of working (maybe 75% chance on hitting for it to kill any vampire). I think it would be better to have a very limited amount of powerful shots, and the player has to choose carefully when to use them, rather than just always being able to fire these bolts, but with a lower chance of success. For that matter, I suppose it wouldnt have to be a special ablity of the crossbow after all, you could just make there only be 5 of these bolts.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate your opinions... I will probably be finishing both projects (Ninja and the Vampire Slaying bolt) this weekend because I have little time due to school.. I'll post it when they are done and will host them on my site in Zip format.

A questions.

1. If I alter an existing BAM file in BAMWorkshop, were do I need to save it so that a custom item I'm creating can use the BAM file (Inventory/Ground/ect..)
Because I made an custom file for both the bolt/stake and ninja but they both do not show up (I got a blank picture in the inventory screen )

Help would be appreciated...

Karlosivic, I could probably do that... because if I want it to be forged by cromwell; it will need scripting and altering... something I can't do..yet

Propose it in the thread and see what the guys say about it... though the bolt is easier created then a crossbow, I'll see what I can do.
Great idea
