Neeber, got it

Ummmm, the ogres were along the right side of the map along the docks... I was just strolling along the water and the screen jumped up to them (as it does when it jumps to a new dialogue) and it just 'happened'. It was kind of in the afternoon, I doubt it'd happen at night, if that helps. Ummmm, aside from that I can't think of how else to describe it... just walk up and down the right side of the map and you should see it

Thanks, I'll check it out! (I probably missed it because I rarely go out there near the water) Oh BTW, re Neeber - I won't spoil it, I'll just say "be patient with him" - it's pretty cute

Another running gag I remember was the Cyrano de Bergerac parody right outside the Radiant Heart...

My female Blade just met that Salvanas guy in the Copper Coronet, and when she flirted back, he got cold feet!

And remember this one? - Right inside the entrance to the Drow City, there's a small room full of slave monsters you can purchase - remember that old guy standing around there? When you initiate dialog, he comes back with this out-of-left-field line about coughing up his lung

The ToB one where YOU get to send someone else on a quest is CLASSIC

Hmmmm... there were quite a few of these. I'll list a few I can remember that I don't think have been mentioned.

1. At the City Gates there was a guy who was asking a merchant to hand over some cash that was owed to him. If you help out the merchant he will sell stuff to you at a discount (one time only I think because he leaves afterwards).

2. If you go to the Five Flagons Inn with Mazzy, the halfling bartender will give you some boots (can't remember what type).

3. In the Delosar Inn, Jan will be told to get the hell out of the bartender's establishment because he purchased some turnip lotion from his aunt that didn't work.

4. In the Slums (I think it happened near the top exit), some guy with a really long name will appear and then proceed to throw a scimitar at your head. He says something like, "Oh, that usually works" and then runs away.

5. This doesn't have to do with encounters, but if you place different NPC's into the lead position (the character portraits on the right side of the screen) they'll have a funny quip ready.

Some of these other posts are interesting. There's so many I haven't seen yet.

Hey I think that's a new one to me, thanks! ...Yah, there are tons of others you can remember the more you think about it... I agree, that's one of the big reasons I still love this game after 2 years Enjoying these episodes more than makes up for the shortcomings the game has.

And there is a cutscene in Ust-natha. You have to climb to the upper level and go all the way to the east.

What about the Illithids in Ust'Natha, at that platform (some kind of discussion is going on there.)

A couple of tidbits:

The ogre thingie is not really that random. It happens in a fixed place in the bridge district. It is just a place where people don't go that often (the south-east part of the map).

The illithids in Ust-Natha are obviously practicing what illithids do best: Mind control!
