I think this Waylay is triggered the first time you leave the Graveyard District in Chapter 6. What happens is you get Waylaid by 6 innocents (There's at least one Nobleman and at least one Fat Peasant Woman in there) that first ask your name, and then say that someone has been looking for you. As soon as the conversation ends, they shapeshift into copies of your own party members, minus your kickass weapons and armor (just like the ones in Spellhold)--all they have are some basic Normal and maybe +1 weapons. Why does the game even bother sending pathetic enemies like this at you? "Oh, let me think--they've got Tanks with no armor or any real weapons, and spellcasters that maybe throw a single Fireball. Oh dear." Mop up, and go home wondering why people are so stupid.

Really, rakshasas???

I thought they were resistant to magic - I could've sworn I did them some damage with Fireballs. I just remember this bunch was easy to kill, and one of the obvious rakshasas I had to fight earlier was not as easy as that group of six

[Am I mistaken?]

I've always thought that they had something to do with the doppleganger in Chateau Irenicus. After all, I dont think it would be to hard for Jon to turn give a couple of his henchmen the shape-shift ability that he learned from a doppleganger.
