And so, a few hours after dawn, the sailors threw their comrades overboard. Many had died, but the great vessel was far from carrying but a skeleton crew. Every now and then, as someone opened a hatch, the continuos screams of the wounded would be heard on deck. But all those availiable had tried their best to treat the injuries, and the number of wounded still to die was small.
Exhausted, the party gathered around Secretmaster in a dining room, awaiting an uncertain future.

"Hey, it is nice to see fresh folks around 'ese days" came a listless voice. The man said that looked at the party for a short moment, then went back to his own drinking. As the group passed by, he said "so I see Lord Ember had recruited more fools with his fooler minions erh?"

"I beg you pardon good sir?" Carlos stopped and turned to look at the drinking man. He dressed in a particular peasent way, white hair and mustache, grey skin seemed to be covered in dust. The man smelled of a mixture of low quialitied liqors. "I am Carlos Neiko, follower of Helm, He who beholds the Balance" the paladin nodded respectfully, even to a low statued peasent, his honor code still required showing his respect, "Were you talking of us?"

The drinking man poured himself another mug and took a small zip "Does it matter, foolish one?" Carlos' eyes narrowed slightly but held his anger in check, he was too tired to pick a fight anyway.

"Not bothering to answer huh? so you are the discplined one then?" the drinking man seemed to be in a taunting mood today. "heh heh heh, too bad, you are going to die, just like the rest of them." he pointed to the group, and made a mocking laugh

frowning deeply, the paladin looked at the man intensively, searching for subtle motivation, but he saw none. "Save your insult for another day, old man!" grumbling, the warrior returned to his group.

OOC:

to whoever can get information out of this drinking man (magical or trickery)

this man is street smart. he knows his way around here, and he hears things. he knows rumor, and some quite disturbing news. He will run if the arguement get out of hand. (a very potential informant) He will not submit to any threat, unless he is in dire situation. he will lie his way out if need be.

what he was trying to say is:

the citidal of Arkaeis is beseiged, alright? watch the word "beseiged", that means nothing can get in, nor anything can come out. so why is the sea not blockaded? remember the self explosive big bully we fought back in the Ironworks's port? the enemy is apparently very resourceful to control minions of such power, it wouldn't be hard for them to blockade the sea routes as well.

see the contradiction here? the old drinking man is suggesting there is some sort of conspiracy going on

also, note that Secremaster is recruiting for the city's defense, so the old man will most likely not talking because he distrusts either side (the attacker and the defender)

Hmm, words are losing me a bit. Well, maybe cuz i'm just skimming but no sea attacks are made cuz the Citidael isn't by the ocean, and he doesn't blockade them cuz its all part of the plan my friend. Anyway, have we landed yet? I'm kinda getting confused, though if we did, tell me so i can give you guys backround on the town we are in.

I think what 250's getting at is that we've already landed and the a man is harrasing us.

Larry wakes up, hurting all over. He had never had a woman thrown at him before. She must equal a + 3 magical blunt weapon! Stretching his painful limbs, Larry gets up to see what had happened since his little snooze.

But you forget that Mistral is frail, thin...and I might have enjoyed a woman being thrown at me,... thus +3 is more than adequate.

Ruffians, highwaymen, and criminals occupy this area, especially the bars. But I know a few guys here, and one just happens to own a tavern that is guarded, and no trouble has occured there. We'll rest up, and get our supplies there. Then, we got to Forluds Stable, he'll suply us with pack horses and the finest steeds. We'll leave two days from now, and after we set off, we'll be in Starlivgad right before nightfall. Starlivgad is a lot more friendlier too, so we'll be good. But don't worry, no harm shall come to us here, cuz this is the area I grew up in. A got a reputation at the age of 14, and by the age of 17, I was a highly skilled thief. Now then, lets get going, all injured we'll be put in Starkeye's guildhall. Don't worry, they will bring you to the temple area, heal you up, and you'll be set. I have to go now, and do some "business", so goodbye. Delrita is incharge, and I'll meet you at the tavern. Delrita knows the directions, and I have given him a badge to show incase trouble comes up, that'll keep us safe from the bandits. And don't cause trouble here guys." With that, SecretMaster walks into a rather dark and murky building, with the shades closed.

Ni Deng looked around, slow as ever, taking in the area. It seemed like the very homes themselves were pure evil. Few people could be seen walking the streets, and even less hugging the shadows by the roadsides. Nonetheless, there were plenty of humanoid shapes hiding in those shadows.

Following Delita, and with the aid of his stick, the gardener was making his way to the inn
