Heya Robert Well first, when I smelled rubber I had already turned my AC off, it was later on down the road in sitting traffic. I left work early today LOL, because I didn't want to sit in traffic as it was 101F today!! So I kinda sailed home, but didn't smell anything, so maybe again it was new parts burning LOL. I dunno.

As for my windows I dunno what he meant by a new motor. The buttons that control the windows are in between the two front seats, no buttons on the doors. But he said he'd have to take the doors off, so I dunno, maybe he meant I needed the whole shabang, i.e., the middle control assembly replaced and perhaps some engine in the two windows that don't work. I still think that the middle assembly might be the culprit. I think there is gunk underneath the buttons so they cannot touch the contact. I'd love to open that sucker up, but it's one big plastic piece that includes part of the dash LOL, and I pulled on it pretty good, so I know it's no easy thing opening it up however it's done LOL.

Oh and I have a Chevrolet "Cavelier" (which I also play in games (Paladin/Cavelier BGII) btw LOL, 1992. Engine? No idea. It has one though LOL. No doubt a 4 cylinder (wimpywimpyWIMpy) Hey it's mine though, and I named it The Shark too. Ha! Errr...

@ The Collective Bad time of year for head aches, I've had a major one for the last month and a have...
@ LZ The switch controls a motor in your door, odds are that that's all that's bad, although I'd like to test that theory myself first, so I'll pose this question, when you push the button on the console, does the motor make any noise? If so, then the motor is probabably bad. Do any of the windows work? I'm guessing it to be a 2 door little coupe thing?

Afternoon, all. Nice and cool, here. Strange for July. My golden retriever is being very annoying.

Robert, again the main console is inbetween the two front seats, four buttons, one for each window. Two on the left drivers side work OK, two on the other side do not, although the front right one will go down three inches before it stops with a big loud buzzing noise LOL. The right rear window is the one I miss, as it added that cross draft you know LOL? When I push the button for that one, no noise, nothing. Again I think gunk may be under buttons and the contact isn't being made. (I did have a plastic soda bottle explode in there during the hot summer 2 years ago LOL)

You do know that those buttons just snap in, usually, and if so, you can snap them out, clean the contacts and maybe the rear window would work. The front sounds like some debris got in there, and is blocking the track, or maybe the track got bent, and the glass can't go any further. Sure wish I lived closer, could save you a ton of money on minor repairs.

Ha! Cats can do that too! The other night while multiplaying and chatting, I had my cat, Merlin, wander in begging for his evening snacks and when I didn't get them for him right away he started climbing into everything and knocked all my cd's over....sigh.. I do love the furball, he's just...annoying sometimes!
